Tire blew a hole this morning :(

So I was driving down the highway and decide to go for some gas, so I'm in the process of changing lanes and looking to my right when, all of a sudden I see an object on the highway flying torwards me. Didnt really get a good look at it, but it looked like a motorcycle taillight assembly or something, regardless I ran over it with the front right tire and it exploded into little pieces. I instantly switched to my tpms and sure as shit, the goddamn thing starts dropping, 32, 27, 22, 19.. so I pull over, and call acura roadcare, the guy comes with a REAL lift and a REAL cross bar, and helps me swap out for my full sized spare. Anyways, I make it to the gas station and came up with the BRILLIANT idea of pulling off my 19" tire there. Fuckers put the first knicks in my Ravens

Anyways, Bridgestone wouldnt cover it under warranty (It was pinched). Damn, low profile tires gotta be careful out there...

Anyways, I then went and put one of my oem's on instead of the spare and I've got one oem 17 on there (I rotated the oem on the left rear) with 3 x 19" ravens. They've got 245/35/19's...My question is, is it ok to run with just one oem 17? I believe the difference in diameter is like 1.2cm or something like that.. i.e. is it ok if my oem on the left rear spins a little faster than the raven on the right rear?

This will probably only be for a week until the new frickin $214 tire comes in.

I've heard you have to have the same size on both sides.. either both same in front or both on the back. BTW how do you have a full size spare?

well yeah for long term driving & even wear and tear, but what about just for 1 week? Not even sure if my right wheel is linked to the left? Am I 'shredding' the oem wheel by forcing it to spin faster?

maybe it isnt full size, whatever comes with the car.

No you aren't going to shred anything. They are not connected together. If they wree, you wouldn't be able to steer around corners...

You will however, probably freak out your VSA. I'd drive very conservatively until you fix it right...

On my G35, I had just installed new Potenza RE960AS on my rear, and left my Pilot Sport A/S on the front, since they were in almost new condition. Stability control didn't like that, and when I was driving on a 45mph sweeper, at a leisurely 45-50mph, the VDC thought I was sliding, a braked one of my front wheels, and sent me into a spin.

Damn stability control....

But anyways... The temp donuts that come with the car are not the exact same size as the stock tires either, so it's not like it's going to damage your car... But I wouldn't drive on them, as if nothing is out of the ordinary.

maybe you should turn the VSC off if you're doing that for a week.

Hell no it's not gonna damage anything! It's on the rear! Like avs007 said, your donut is even smaller!! At least your stock is a 17. Don't worry about it playa, I've done it before in another car (Legend).

Stop that monster truck shit Lee!! "Hulk smash!"

Off topic: COP WAS A NO-SHOW TODAY D-O-DUBBA-G!!!

Fuck a lawyer!!! That's at least $200 in mods I can do now!

On topic: Uhh, stay in your lane, and uhh...watch the road, or some shit like that!

It's this used tire dude in Gaithersburg on Snouffer School Rd that sells a lot of good tires cheap, and he has a place for you to jack your ride on a lift yourself to make changes! Check him out! I think it's called Paul's (411 it on your own 0.25 - fuck you think this is pimp!) Hahahahaha...good luck dawg!

495 east bound taking the rt 1 college park exit.

Damn, that sounds like a good place to find Darksom. Would love to have access to a lift...if just to be able to clean the underbody
Lucky you on the cop not showing up, must have been md or dc? Those VA cops are sadistic

so far the vsa hasnt acted up yet, but thanks for the suggestions.

What I was thinking was turn the VSA off and drive at a somewhat slower speed and I'm pretty sure you should be fine because the donut is what, like 15 inches? Just try to switch back over quick! Sorry to hear about your experience

similar thing happened to me, except I ran over a shredded semi tire.

i ran my TL with three 19" wheels and one 17" wheel for about a week, i just moved the OEM wheel to the back

you shouldn't have any problems with that setup
