Does anyone know of a good place to get a high quality tint job in Toronto? I am cancelling the arrangement with my dealer as their contact only uses metallic tints which of course is a no no with navi systems.

Permashine in Brampton did mine. Perfect job and guaranteed for life. They have been around for over 20 years. Not sure of the metallic content though.

 

I've wondered why the metallic tint interferes with the NAV when the NAV antenna does not come into contact with it. Can someone explain this to me?

If you are looking for Tinting in toronto, ACURA OF NORTH TORONTO uses whats called LLUMAR TITANIUM tinting which has no affect on any NAV system. It's guaranteed for life and scratch proof. Ask for Felix the Business Manager, he gave me a good deal on the tint and the car.

As with TL-Nation I highly recommend Mr. Shaye of Acura North York. I had my tinting done yesterday and they did a superb job. Navigation system is fine, very professional job. If anyone in the area has a navi and is afraid to get theirs tinted this is well worth the extra mileage to get it done properly. The 35% tint looks great and is not supposed to affect the day/night mirror.

How much did the Acura dealer charge for tinting?

 

He actually has someone else do it. When I bought the car I was quoted $500 + tax by my dealer but it was metallic tint so I said forget it. Here it was a little under $400 and you can get a bit of a deal if you pay cash. I would have gladly paid more for a job that I didn't have to worry about bubbles and a dead navi.
