Tinting The Sunroof?

Tinting The Sunroof?
Hi,
I am haggling with some tinters ( and waiting for the weather to
warm a bit).
One of the tint shops said that they did not like to tint the sunroof because
they had seen some shatter in the past from the heat and the tint made
the glass hot enough to damage the window seals.
I have had tinted sunroofs for the last 14 years and have not had any
problems.
Has anyone heard any tales of sunroof failure before?
Jerry

Just curious.. I know a couple of people have tinted their sunroof....
Why do you want to do so (a serious question)?
The sunroof is already tinted and whats the point of a sunroof if the light is blocked?

more light than I like.
I also want a bit more UV protection.

I tinted my TL using the Huber Optik tint and after seeing how much heat it blocked, I went back and added it to the sun roof. No problems here, and now I don't have to close my sun shade when I park to try and keep the heat out.

Now granted, I never actually read this anywhere.

A sunroof is a cutout in a car's (or truck's) roof that can be opened to provide fresh air and sun to the people inside. A sunroof can be made of the same metal as the rest of the roof, or it can be made of plastic and transparent (usually tinted), in which case it customarily referred to as a moonroof. Moonroofs have a sliding shade in the interior that can be retracted, and were invented by the American Sunroof Company.
Sunroofs can be manual or electric. Manual sunroofs usually work by flipping up to create a small opening around the edges, or being removed completely. Electric sunroofs either flip up and slide back on top of the roof, or down and into the roof. An electric sunroof will have access to close it manually if the motor or control circuitry fails.

I tinted my Civic Si moonroof with dark tint film from Walmart and it was still fine 4 years later. The TL's factory moonroof tinting is much better than the Civics, so no need add tint in northern USA. Folks in the south probably feel otherwise.
Tinting is easy to do yourself, especially on relatively flat surfaces such as a sunroof. I would think there are instructions on the web. I watched an expert in FL do my first car tinting, then did the next one myself.
