Tint and your thoughts about it...
How many of you guys have tinted windows?
Im debating if I really want to do it, my bestfriend has a 06 audi S4, him and I were having a conversation about if tints should be put on a car with nice tasteful interior... Your thoughts??

In my state the legal tint percentage is 50%. I have 50% nano-ceramic tint on all of my windows expect the front windshield. Nano-ceramic tint vs the regular tint really made a difference, they look more like 35%. Check out my pictures in my progress thread.
you would skip tinting your car just so you can show off your interior? sounds dumb
i don't care what car i'm driving, it has to have some type of tint on it.
reason being;
keeps interior cooler (will keep your interior from being damaged from the hot heat so it will stay looking nice, also since the interior is cooler it will take the AC less time to heat up the car compared to a car with NO TINT)
makes the car look better (opinion)
can do stuff in the car at night without worrying about people being able to see you (what kind of "stuff" is up to you)
can pick your nose without having the car next to u see u (unless you're being watched by the car in front via rear view mirror)
helps somewhat block the suns glare and heat when it's shining at your face from the side window as your driving.
idk man... theres so much more win to having tint than no tint IMO. driving around in a car with no tint feels weird. feels like your driving out in the open. but when you tint the car it makes the inside feel much more comfortable. to me anyways.

I have the taupe interior, so I went with a darker tint. It doesn't look as dark as it would on a car with black interior. I think it goes well with my WDP. My opinion is that tint really saves your interior from UV damage, especially cars with leather interior. Just make sure you go to a shop that has a good reputation and warranty.

35% tint for me. I feel naked without it.
Just had tint installed on my 06 TL this morning. The NBP TL has the Caramel interior which would appear lighter so I decided to go 20% all around. The shop here in Calgary,AB Canada doesn't charge for moleskin install either so just the $299 for the whole car.
I highly recommend tint. I always go 35% all around. I'm not a fan of mixmatching tint % on side windows it just looks awkward. 35% is nice because it allows you to slightly see the interior which looks great on cars with fancy interiors. My vote goes to 35% on sides and rear. I love mine.

my favorite part about tint is having it on the rear window so assholes with 8K or 10K headlights dont blind you. i especially hate the trucks with this. its like people with trucks dont care about anything but headlights.
^^ agree with this completely, except I have 15% in the back and 50% up front as to avoid pullovers (in NJ). IT really keeps the interior cool in the summer and protects the interior. It looks nice from the outside, but I got it done on all of my cars for the glare/ UV blocking qualities.
My tint is 20% all windows but wind shield. Looks great since i have Taupe interior.
^^^ yeah but he wasn't referring to useable light output. From a different drivers point of view the 8-10000k lights are soooo obnoxious with all the glare. Yes a 10000K hid bulb technically has less lumens than a OEM 4300K but that's not something an oncoming driver can tell while being blinded to shit. I gave one of those guys a nice dose of my bixenons last night. He had both headlights and fogs in HID and the glare was down right dangerous for oncoming drivers. That moron.
makes it kind of a pain reversing though esp if i my eyes havent adjusted to the darkness yet.
i agree that having your windows tinted do make the car look better and many benefits to it. the only thing that stop me from tinting my car windows is the hassle of getting pull over and getting ticketed! it is illegal in michigan to have the driver and passenger windows fully tinted. i think it looks weird if you dont have tint all around (except winshield).
would be awesome if there is a way not to get ticketed for tinted windows. (i dont even want the windows that dark, 35% all around)

here in Florida its miserable without tint but the legal limit is 28% on the fronts and 15% on the backs but i went with 15% all the way around. Its dark but not so dark to be harrased by the police. I think it looks retarded having different shades.
This is my second TL with 17% tint all around except for the windshield, and I have yet to get pulled over...I do live in Toronto though, and I dont think our cops are as strict as their U.S. counterparts...
this is the truth. i hate when drivers have horribly aimed headlights that glare at you from the mirrors, and after i got my windows tinted...never had that problem again.
Do you know what tint you went with on your WDP/Taupe?

After tint, sorta hard to see...

Okay fine, here's a better more recent picture...

Mine is 35%. When tested for inspection, it reads 32.0%, which is the darkest a passenger car can have here in NC.
