I love the way the air circulates in my car when I open the moonroof, but I HATE when the sun beats down on my arms and neck.

And then it dawned on me, why not just tint the moonroof? I won't lie, my tint guy looked at me funny when I asked.

Awkward glance aside, it is awesome and I highly recommend it.

umm...close it and crack the rear windows? having the moonroof open is the same idea, so why waste your $$ on tinting the moonroof?

It keeps the suns intensity from superheating the glass- which transfers into the car
Most shops will do it for an extra 20

i've tried cracking the rear window only, but the wind noise from the rear distorts the sound of the stereo for some reason.

for the 20 bucks (that's what my guy charged as well), it's not exactly a huge waste of money.

to my understanding....the moonroof was made to expand and contract with the outside temps and tint would degrade the amount of expansion and contraction allowed....i personally wouldnt do it.

I wouldn't do it. But I usually only have the moonroof cover open at night.

I tinted mine with 20%, like my back and rear windows. It definitely cuts back on the heat transfer into the car and I haven't noticed any problems with it. With the tint that was already on it though, it's EXTREMELY dark, even on the sunniest summer day. The tint shop charged me an extra 30 to do it, Llumar tint, like the other windows.

Ah....I just close the cover if it becomes too overbearing. Much easier and doesnt require any tint. lol

I'm confused. If you OPEN the sunroof like you said to circulate the air then it is retracted into the roof. So, tinting it would defeat the purpose.

Anyway, my sunroof came tinted, and it is extremely dark.

My maxima didn't have any tint on it when I got it and I hated the way the sun would beat in, it was like a magnifying glass (unlike when its open and there's a breeze coming through). I got limo tint on it and would highly recommend it on any moonroof that's not tinted.

im happy with the stained glass they used on mine. only reason being, sometimes i just slide the cover back so the sun shines in when i pass cops, makes the tinted windows look alot lighter
