Cool Shades in St. Peters

I have been using them for about 12 years now. never had scratches on the film, no spots, and good prices. they do REALLY good work.

I have tried a couple others, and ended up having them remove it, and then went to Cool Shades to get it fixed.

Hey thanks for the replies. I wanted to go to a place on Manchester next to st louis acura, but I the place was gone, it was Quality tinting or something like that and now it is some glass store. Anyways my friend from work got Huper Optik ceramic on his bmw and i wanted that. cant find anyone here, so i will probably look in chicago unless you guys know someone else installing Huper optik ceramic?

Try Wicked Stickers in Cave Springs. They have done 3 of my cars, all my friends, and my parents. Best work around IMO. PM me for the number if you want it.

If you come acrossed someone installing Huper Optik in the St. Louis area please post it. I also am looking for high quality ceramic tint. Just a side note here; I had Mark @ Ultrashield of STL put a clear bra on my type S yesterday and it looks great. I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in one of these.

Paz, thanks for posting that link. I just called Quality and they want $499 for Huper Optik. They no longer use the F1 tint. The $499 seems on par for ceramics Ive looked into. What do you guys think?

I'm not sure about the Huber Optik, but I think I paid about $375 for the F1 over a year ago

What did the clear bra run you with install...i definitely need one of those with all the highway driving I do!

Mark charges $500 plus tax for a total of $537. If you look around on this website this is actually a descent price for a professionally installed bra. He owns a TL as well, so you know it will be done right.

Did you (or anybody else) have a good experience with these guys? I was thinking about using them once I get my TL-S in a few months...

Also, I was reading about ceramic tint and it seems to be harder to scratch from what they say. Is this true? Are Moleskins recommended anyway?

When I was on the phone with Quality today, the tech I talked to said he could put moleskins on if I wanted, but with their application technique I don't need them. You would have to call them to find out specifics on this. He explained it to me, but I am sure my reexplaination wouldn't do it justice.

correct me if i am wrong, but f1 pinnacle isn't ceramic, I think it is dyed and thats why it doesn't interfere with electonics. Oh I found where quality tint moved to and i visited there, he said $499 for huper optik, and $249 for madico non ceramic though. We should ask for a group dicount or something on the ceramic, what do you guys think? how many are in? The Huper looks really classy and is fucntions the best to protect our interior from the sun.

I'd love to get in the group buy but I don't have the car yet...

I'm just gathering information right now. Post back about your experience once you guys get the tint installed.

I set up my appointment for Saturday as well. Quality said they would knock $100 off the entire bill if we could get 1 more TL in Sat for Huper Optik. Anyone interested?

I recently moved from StL to Dallas. I had Quality do my last TL with Huper Optik and it was a nice job, albeit expensive. On my new 06TL I had VIP on Manchester between Lindbergh and Geyer do the Pinnacle F1. Fantastic job, even tucked behind the moulding on the 1/4 glass of the passenger doors. No moleskin necessary and not a problem for almost a year now. BTW, Mark did a great job on my clear bra as well. Great guy.

Difference between ceramic and regular film?

Can someone explain the difference and benefits of ceramic tint over regular tint film?

Thanks,

We just had a meet last month and I think we might have another in July. Check the TL Meets thread periodically. If we have one, that is where it will be posted. Alex, the search bar will get you all the info you need on tint differences. A quick answer to your question...most people that go with ceramic over metallic do so because metallic tint has been known to interfere with NAV systems.

I realize I'm a little late to the party but I had Ziebart on Manchester Rd. do my tint and clear bra about 16 months ago for ~$450. They did a good job - no scratching or bubbling whatsoever.

I had Quality put Huper Optik 30% on my TL-S today and it looks great . I am very pleased with the job they did and the friendliness of the staff. They are very willing to give discounts if it means more TLs for them to tint. Speaking of which, Dominic, what happened to you today. They couldn't give me the discounted price today since I was the only TL to show up, but they did give me a gift certificate redeemable for cash if one or more TLs shows up for Huper before the end of the month.
