You are correct about the seal causing the scratches on the tint. HUGE problem with the TL's and alot of newer car's these days. Their is a vendor on here named FLNSX he sells a product called moleskin it is a felt type material that is laid in between the weatherstripping to help/prevent future scratches from occuring HUGE benefit and improvement. Now their are members on here that swear by it including myself, but however their are members here who have never had any problems with tint scratching or doesn't bother them. Your choice.

My tint looked like I took a steel wool pad up and down the window. I redid everything last month and I have 2 hairline scratches as well. I may invest in the moleskin kit from a vendor here.

I redid my tint last month- if you don't want mole skin, just keep the window opening clean. I use my credit card between a wet rag. So far no scratches.......

2 seals? there's only one. its a rubber piece that is closer to the interior of the car. you can pull it out by first rolling ur window down and then prying at the trim towards the inside of the car. it pops off and acts as if there is a hinge holding it in place. once popped off reach in and pull out the black rubber piece..thats the piece u want to apply the moleskin to.

My car was tinted when I got it and the tint are moderately scratched up. It doesn't really bother me though, it's absolutely not noticeable from the outside and I can only see it at a certain angle from the inside.

Depending on your relationship with your tint shop you might be able to get a Re-Tint for free. I know I did I simply told them, these wscratches were comon on all 3G TLs and because of this, it was something that tint shops out there should be aware about and inform their customers. Because they never told me about this, a few months after they tinted my windows I had those scratches, I told them if they would have informed me of this prior to me getting my windows done, I would have decided to go with the moleskin. They agreed with me and so I got free re-tint. This may not work for everyone but I figured I would throw it out there, doesn't hurt to try.

Yessir, get some moleskin... It's hella easy to put on... Hopefully your tint shop will redo your tint for free. Just be cool with them and shouldn't have a problem... I had those stupid scratches on my tint, stupid me should of searched this prior to tinting but it was my first tint ever and thought everything would be cool... Anyways, theres like a thread or whatever for acurazine members for discount on the moleskin... Pay a little bit cheaper, thats what me and my bro did. So far its money in the bank with no issues at all... Hope everything works out for ya... PEACE!

After looking today, you are correct there is only one seal, but it does have two lips on it. It has a lower lip and then the upper lip that you can actually see. I notice that dust likes to sit in the crease that is there between them. So since there are two lips, would i be safer to get two kits or should i just do what some people did and cut it in half length-wise and apply it to both seal lips.

according to flnsx he recommends cutting the strip in half so that you'd apply it to both strips individually. i have seen a tint shop apply it as a single piece. i'm trying to figure out which way is better so that the moleskin doesn't peel off. i'm also exploring a way to relieve some of the pressure of the weather strip but am uncertain of the consequences.

you'd apply the moleskin to both of the strips as one piece vs. cutting it in half and applying it to both.
