Hey all! I've been thinking about selling the 2007 Acura TL Type-S (manual) and would love your opinion on the value of this puppy today. I'm the original owner, no accidents, drives great, great condition exterior, clean interior, just under 50k miles, pretty new tires Michelin Pilot Sport a/s 3. I'm based in the Bay Area of California. Note: Those are white reflections of the parking hash marks on the body and not scratches .
FWIW: Not too many com-parables out there. You have a rare car, which appears, in almost, "as new" condition. Assuming, a clean CarFax, no issues, and up to date maintenance, I think you could put any price you want on it, and see what kind of response you get. Were I searching for this specific car, in this color combination, with this mileage, in this remarkable condition, I would be willing to pay 13K for it, maybe more, in a heartbeat! For those of us who have hunted the perfect used car, yours appears to be one of those (pot at the end of the rainbow), type cars, which are near impossible to find. Just my .02 cents
how much potential buyer want to spend? I mean James sold his TL several years back around $24k and there are case some mint TL-S MT sit for 6 months. When I was shopping for a TL several months back my budget was up to $20k if a right TL show up but again that just me.
OP in your case the reality value is around $15.5k-$17.5k what type of maint has been done to it? any fluid replacement done over the years?
If I was in a position to buy right this second, I'd probably offer you somewhere in the neighborhood of 12.5-13.5K. While the car may be worth a little more and looks to be in pristine condition, it IS 10 years old and should probably get a timing belt replacement. While it isn't very near the 105K mileage interval for the TB service, the elements still degrade it over time ( if I remember correctly, I think I read somewhere that the time interval for the TB was 10 years if the mileage wasn't reached first), and I definitely wouldn't want to risk trashing the engine on such a beautiful car!

It's what the (perhaps) Canadian Acura service advisors recommend. This could be due to the fact of the large temperature variety us Canadians and many northern US states face.
However, Acura's maintenance schedule on the Canadian page does not mention this 7 year rule. The rubber on my timing belt when it was changed at the 10 year mark was still fine but my car was approximately at 150,000km anyways. Car was always stored inside heated garages its entire life which may have helped in preserving the material of the timing belt. Just a speculation.
As to OP, you have a highly desirable Acura. Listing it for $16k USD seems like a fair starting point.

Fact is that dealer tend to up sell, did you know that those service advisor get pay commission for each job they sold to the customer right? (especially car that is out of warranty)
Any how, I am not saying rubber rot is the case but most modern TB its has Kevlar on the inside and rubber is almost full synthetic compound that resistance to weather quite good. That why car back in 1990 recommend replace around 60-80k miles and now they are moving closer to 105k (with exception of extreme condition that described by the user manual).
I see many up sale happen with PS flush (big fat lie since they never flush the whole system), brake fluid flush (I will make sure they actually they did the flush) and cabin air filter. However I am glad that my local dealer do not trying to up sale that why I stay with them for this long.
I simply stated the 7 years or 105k because I read it on here LOL.
For my base TL I completed the 105k service a few thousand miles before the actual indicator for the service came on, just for preventative maintainence and peace of mind.
For the type-s, the previous owner took it to the dealer to get it done since I was insistent that the job be done prior to purchasing the vehicle....the car is currently at 161,00km and change and the indicator is yet to come on for the service. Not sure if the indicator comes on at any exact mileage for every TL....

Yes I know service advisors get paid commission lol, I work at a dealership. My dealer didn't try to up-sell the timing belt service to me, I just simply asked what are the intervals they recommended since my car was a "low" mileage one.
^^^ if your car has regularly driven over the years (even tho its 3k miles per year) then I wouldn't loosing sleep over TB and you can wait until 105k miles. The only time you have to watch out for E.G a TL with 11k miles on the lock and the owner has not use the car for about 6 or more months.
Don't worry about the TB itself, I think the TB tensioner will give out before 105k mark. I had to replace my TB/WP at 87k miles because bad tensioner, it got so bad to the point where it will making noise during cold start up on warm day. My 07 Base TL already show sign of the tensioner on it way out, I can heard it slightly over last winter.
If your car was white with 50k mile TL-S or so, I would pay 17-18k for it. I just paid for my 2007 white TL-S a couple months ago for 16k asking price at 84k miles auto. For a low mileage car like yours, you can ask for 16-17k for it and see if there are any sucker, I mean, buyer, out there.
