For those with Parchment Interior

Has anyone in here somehow changed the wood grain trim that comes in the parchment or camel interior? That's the one thing I don't like about parchment interior, because it makes the car feel "cheap", imo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dunno........but the wood was part of the reason I got the parchment and not the black interior.....I like it and think it makes the interior look even more luxurious.....but that's just MHO. On the other hand......as hot as it's been this summer, the light-colored parchment has turned out to be an ideal choice. I can't imagine how hot the inside would get with black!

Visit your Acura dealer parts department and place an order.. :-)

The pieces would be quite easy to swap out. May even find a buyer for you "plood" in the black market.

I could never dig the "plood" in my interior either.

I ordered the Carbon Fiber pieces (4 door panels, shifter bezel, and console boxes) from an ebony interior car. It looks REALLY sharp.

See this thread for part numbers:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=plood

I'd post pictures, but I'm in the process of "2 toning" the interior. I found a wrecked ebony interior TL, and am buying all the "black" interior pieces and door covers. The final goal will look something like this:

What about the carpet? It would have been cheaper to order ebony and buy camel seats. I thought about new leather inserts in the seats. Not sure what would really catch my eye. Thinking perforated suede........

I looked for over a month for a WDP/Ebony 6MT with Nav. No dice. I'm happier this route.

I scraped up the entire interior (except the seats), to include door cards, glovebox, center console, and rear parcel shelf from a freshly wrecked 2006 for $600. You can't get (1) seatcover for that.

Ed...
Great minds think alike eh?

Ding,
Saw it. It's kinda all wrong. Only thing I like are the seats.

Swapping Plood for CF

When I ordered my 04 I wanted the Plood with the Quartz but it was not available. Instead of having to settle for a different color combination to be able to still have the Plood rather than CF accent pieces, I ordered the Plood accent pieces from my dealer's parts dept. Then I had the dealer remove and then install the Plood for the CF. The post above suggested it would be an easy task. I disagree unless you are mechanically inclined and know what you are doing. It took the dealer eight hours to swap out mine when it was done. The 06` model does give you the option of interior accent pieces now though.
I know it is subjective, but I love my finished look.
If anyone wants pics, PM me with your e-mail address and I will forward them.

Agree. If you know how to work on your car, it's relatively easy. I wouldn't reccomend this for yuor fist mod though.

This thread should become... "I'll trade you my plood/carbon fiber for your carbon fiber/plood".

yup! I was getting tired of having to clean the camel interior all the time (especially the floors/carpet) and was really turned on to the 2 tone look when I was looking at the maxima before I purchased the TL. Just a couple more pieces to hunt down....never thought I'd be praying for someone with ebony interior to totally wreck their TL haha!

all luxury cars come with woodgrain accents whether it be real wood or simulated. imo it looks nice with the parchment interior. certainly the carbon fiber look won't do any good.
