Cool Thinking about leaving!

I have still own a 94 Integra GS-R, I can remember the dayz when it was King of the Streets. What has happened to Honda? I have owned 2 3rd Gen TL's which one I still have the 05 SSM Navi. The Type-S is great but look at the regular G35 not to even mention the coupe. More horse power, beautiful interior and endless curves. Now the 3rd gen TL is better than the 2nd even though that is still a nice car but when other compaines introduce something different they are going all out. When does an freaking Nissan Altima call out the might TL and win in any category. It is time for me to get a new car, my TL is almost 3 and about to be paid for, so now I am now faced with a decision. I love the RL but it doesnt say 50k when I see it maybe 40k but not 50k. I know the rumors are running about what they are about to do but Im almost at the point where I am considering the new Audi S5 since Honda is refusing to reintroduce the coupe. If Acura comes out with the 4th gen TL and it doesnt see 300+ horse power and at least 300 lb of torque they might as well throw Advance out the window and start saying Acura, well its a really nice car, in the commericals. Im always defending Honda on everything but I am tired. Somebody tell me it gets better. At least they confirmed the 2010 NSX, which I cant afford the way the economy is but at least that is a step, I hope. If theat has something stupid like 350hp I think a tear might come. The new TL must be a performer not just a looker or im switching. Im just venting, thanks for reading.....

Not many buyers care about HP ratings. Ecomony blows and the last thing a buyer wants is a car that gets 15 mpg? At a cost a consumer doesn't want to use higher octane gas. A average person will drive a higher end vehical and still use 87 octane.

Further more all the new cars coming out are getting heavier. The new 08 honda accord V6 with the 3.5 VCM engine the car weighs about 4500? Going from 270 to 300 isnt much of a gain, infact you prob. wont even feel it.

Are you serious? HP are very big on almost any Mans list. I would never ever ever put 87 or even 91 octane in my TL. I dont worry about gas cost I just pull up and pump my gas. Getting upset about it doesnt make the price go down. I take the car to the dealer for everything except tire balancing and rotations. And do you really think that you cant feel 30 HP. If that is the case pull up beside a Type S or better yet a Nissan Altima 3.5 and go from light to light.. You will be highly disappointed and wish you had 30 more horsepower. IMO

well on your daily grind would you really care whether your car has 250 or 270hp? usually, people never accelerate to truly feel all the torque or hp. What they do like are things like fuel economy, a good nav and audio, and comfy seats and a spacious interior and trunk. there's a reason that 80 percent of Camrys and Accords sold are four-bangers.

New top of the line Accord weighs only 3600 lbs, nowhere near 4500 lbs. 4500 lbs sounds more fitting for a fully loaded 4WD Pilot.

Here in California... 91 is the Octane level for Supreme Unleaded. The only ways to get a higher Octane is to get race gas or add something else...

Not to burst your bubble but you yourself doesn't equal to every other american that drives a car. The biggest sales right now is with toyota and people are just buying thr 4 cylinder versions because again Not everyone like yourself or I care about hp or fuel economy. Being an automotive tech I can tell you right off the bat 8 out of 10 customers don't even want to spend the money to change their oil let alone put higher octane gas in their car.

A lot of people think because their car is 40-50k It doesn't need maintance and will run only off of oil changes. It's true and scray.

GVWR on that accord was about 4500. I am not joking. I was helping the inspector with the inspection and the GVWR read 4580? I can't recall the number. It's def heavy.

I agree, people dont want to do maintence. When I buy a car I make sure that I can afford to take it to the dealer to get work done. To me that is included before I purchase. I have friends that have S-Classes and 7 series and cant get the maintence done at the dealer. Funny to me. They always at home but I drive everywhere. They must lease or something I dont know, but anyway people buy things that they cant afford. Like you, I dont and I am big on my car. It is not just a car it is My Car. An extension of the person. I dont know, I just love cars I take time when buying.

Doesn't GVWR mean the maximum weight of the car plus its load at its maximum load limit? I don't think GVWR is the actual weight of the car without occupants and cargo.

We need to compare the actual vehicle weight (unladen), not at full load.

Isn't there a saying about "The grass is always greener ..... "?

Those corny old sayings have wisdom at their core.

Gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) -- Vehicle weight plus carrying capacity.
