Well, considering it's at a dealership (they're ready to give you a discount) and that it's acura certified (extended warranty), it's not outrageous.

And maybe it has a few extra goodies.

What were you expecting the price to be??

Damn, I could almost MAKE money on my '04 with 45k miles based on what I've been seeing here the last few weeks on the used market! Too bad I'm not selling...

I was not expecting to see an '04 with 61,xxx going for $25k.

I could see 25 - 35k miles at the most. For another, $7k, one could buy new or at least an '05. I feel that they are earning the title of 'stealership'.

My dealer wanted 28.9k for a '04 w/ 44k miles. That's when I decided I should get a new one.

they probably gave the guy who traded it in no more than $20,000. They are hoping somebody comes in and buy it at that price no questions asked... $5000 profit on a 2 year old car with 4 years worth of mileage. I hope they know that they are not going to get $25k for it. More importantly I hope they don't pull the common stealership tricks like "this is the lowest we can go", "it's on sale only today", "you can't find this color combo anywhere in the Midwest"

That's so 80's tactics. Anybody who falls for that these days deserve to get ripped off for not doing their research.

Well dealers still try them though. One of my friends got tricked like that when he bought his F-150 Lightning for $5000 over sticker (Gwinnet Place Ford said it was a "Limited Production markup" beause it was the "only one of 5 blue Lightnings ever made". The next month there was an identical blue F150 Lightning for $8000 less. When they first came out they also marked up every '05 mustang GT $8000 over sticker because of the same "Limited Production" BS.

Infiniti tried to get me with that same crap saying that the black on black G35 navi 6MT they just got was the only one in the entire South East. I didn't bite. He then called me back a few weeks later telling me if I come back, he won't be there because he got fired.

Out of all the dealerships, I've been to, Gwinnett Place Ford was the worse in trying those tactics, thankfully I never bought from them.

I totally agree.

the dealer owns the vehicle and can ask whatever price they want for it, same as you if you want to sell your car. if it is too much, then they wont sell it, same as you.

I bought new because used TL's were rare and overpriced in my opinion. I am glad the used ones are alot of money because that will help with the value of mine...

it's too bad that so many people think they should have protection from themselves. for them, it's always somebody else that should be responsible for their poor decisions. it's what keeps attorneys in their beemers...hehe

Holey thread resurrection Batman!

Guys, this thread is nearly 2 YEARS old... If you paid over $20K for a 2004 certified, you probably paid too much. My NBP 2004 with 48K miles & NAVI is probably worth only $18K right now...

I got a 05 DGP (no navi) with 33K miles for $23.5 (no cert) in Sept. You should be able to get an 05 Certified for the price you got quoted.
