Are these Type-S tail lights legit?

I know there's no such thing as "fake" tail lights, but are these the same as the OEM? I read somewhere that aftermarket type-S tail lights might not be the same color as the OEM ones.

Is this true? If so, where can I get good type-s tail lights from?

I was looking at these on eBay and they look ok to me. Should I pull the trigger?

Those are awfully cheap - they're more than likely low quality knock offs.

^ Agreed

You should honestly just buy OEM from AckTL05 or another vendor. AckTL05 sells OEM sets for $210 shipped!

It says they are not OEM

"* Aftermarket OE (original equipment) style replacement"

So there's a chance they may be just like OEM ones, or they may be cheaply made knockoffs..... I would guess the latter.

they're not OEM, they're DEPO...but thats okay. plenty of people have DEPO parts on their car, including myself.

plus, plenty of people on this forum have bought from that seller on eBay. he is also a vendor on this forum, Unique Style Racing (USR).

I believe those are USR (Unique Style Racing) taillights and sidemarkers. I have never personally used their products yet but that person is a vendor on Acurazine and seems like to have a good reputation. There's a thread going on right now somewhere in the general area that offer coupon codes to get a certain percentage off.

Ah I found it here's the LINK: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/coupon-code-called-swoosh-more-coupon-codes-added-8-15-12-a-858266/

Edit: Oops.. SharksBreathe beat me to it... 1 hour and 12 mins ahead :SMH:

I bought my lights from this guy fishcake321 - excellent seller and customer service. A car wash knocked out and broke one of my side markers and he got me another set for a killer price and super fast shipping. I would recommend buying from him.

I would respectfully disagree with this whole statement. Fitment Can be a hit Or miss as I have seen oems not fit perfect but depos fitment is always worse than Oem. Depo on the other hand is a lot better than eagle eyes... Those tails I wouldn't put on my car for free or paid to. Also I bet a car that depos color is the same as Oem... Depo is like 90% and good for the price but Oem is overall a lot better in anyway.

All use the same bulbs it's just quality that differs.

I have depo type s tails on my car and was originally happy.

Now, they have light surface scratches on the inside AND outside. And they aren't as shiny or beautiful as oem type s tails. I have to buff mine with the meguiars headlight restoration kit regularly for them to look good. It's kinda wack.

Depo are ok. Oem or nothing for me from here on out.

Search for DEPOT aftermarket.
Or the Black market on AZ.
I saw a pair for sale a month ago.

I'd have to agree with this post and the guy who said depo parts are hit and miss. Some end up being really great, others not so much. My TL has depo headlights and while they look good, the fitment isn't perfect and on the inside condensation gets on the lower front part sometimes. I will be replacing them with OEM when I have the money. But I wouldn't say don't get depo if you aren't willing to pay for OEM. They look good and I'm sure you will be happy with them.

Here are my DEPO tails and sidemarkers by fishcake321 via ebay.
Look great IMHO.
** only gripe is the rear sidermarkers needed to have the back plastic casing shaved a little because it would "flex" the marker because of too tight of a fit, the plastic seemed to be maybe 1/2mm to wide, nothing a razor blade couldnt fix.
Tail lights fits GREAT, no gap, just as tight as my OEM's.
By the way there is no light distortion with these like some ass clown posted in one of the threads I searched regarding DEPO lights.

Tail lamps are not that expensive, OEM is 100% worth the extra dough.

Personally I prefer the look of OEM tails and side markers. Either is fine and looks good, but OEM has the extra edge.

My Depo tails fit perfect, not 100% happy with the sidemarkers, they kinda stick out a little on one side, I'll take them back and and mess with them one of these days. I paid $180 shipped for the tails and all 4 side markers, the markers are brighter than the stock ones too.

I had the TL-s OEM tail lights and just got the all black/smocked combo tails for my black TL from fishcake.

So far its been a week and they look amazing. They look classy and everybody around here who has a TL stops and stares. The black smoke is by far in my opinion the sexiest combo for tail lights on a TL though i may be a lil bias lol

I thought about those smoked ones but didn't wanna be hassled for not having red reflectors, since it's my daily sticking with DOT approved style. My Impala tail lights are pitch black but it barely leaves the garage.
