I am an extreme beginner when it comes to cars but decided to give it a shot to adjust my coilovers and they seem pretty straight forward.
I was successful in lowering my rear left ride height but when I got to my rear right I had an issue. I was able to lower the bottom collar but when I tried to lower the upper collar by spinning it left, the black thread piece moves with it and spent a good hour of turning it hoping it would break free but no success. I've used some spray to help it but no. Could it be I just have a bad set of coilovers or do I just suck at working on cars? I understand the black notch and green notch should align but when I adjust the upper collar the black notch moves with my collar. Is it a MUST these must align? Again I am like ditsy blonde girl dumb when it comes to working on cars.
If I do, I don't see them. Not sure if they are above or below the wheel well. I don't even know the exact model of my coilovers as my mechanic threw out the box and instructions. I guess I need to find a way to keep the black thread stationary while I turn the upper collar?
I was able to wedge a flathead screwdriver tip between the two notches to prevent the black threads from spinning and was able to lower it, however when I reached the length the opposite side had, the coil was completely lose and I could turn everything (coil, collars, black thread piece) easily by hand but the opposite side I could not. Is that a red flag or is that okay?
Also, the front right side I lowered .75 inch lower than the front left side however both sides are still the same length from floor to rocker panel. Why is that? Do I need to let it rest, drive it around? Also both my right side tires had a little more wear on the outer sides than the left side tires before any adjustments.
Sorry for the stupid questions and I really appreciate each reply.
Its not possible that the black collar is turning. Its physically locked in the correct spot here.
In the photo yes it is in the correct spot but when turning the top collar, the black part would move with it causing "misalignment." The front coilovers has interlocking pieces from green to black parts but the rears did not. Still not sure if they need to stay aligned or the danger it would bring if they were not aligned.

Yes, they should stay aligned unless they're damaged.
They are meant to lock in. That is also how the sleeve stays attached to the shock. If yours are damaged, you're going to break that portion and that corner of the car will fall/get damaged.
I would check that the black peice isn't spreading and working its way down. If it is..you shouldn't drive the car like that. Buy new collars from Tein.
Everything you're saying sounds like there's something seriously wrong.
Maybe lift the car and check everything and snap some more photos?
You can see the threaded sleeve falls in place with the green protrusion to stop it from spinning. Maybe the notch is missing or it's on the other side.
Since you took a picture straight on with "notch", it's hard to tell but to me it looks like it's not there.

Its there. If it was opposite, it wouldn't sit all the way down.
Her collar looks flared out.
Like someone installed it without lining it up. Car's weight pushed it down and spread it out

The picture you posted is exactly how both my front coilovers look however both rears don't have the interlocking piece. Makes me believe that's how they were manufactured but I have no idea.
I looked at google pictures of my model number and found no rear coilovers that had the missing "interlocking notch" on the rears.
