does any one know if the newer 07 tl tail lights would fit on an 05 tl? also did a search on ebay/craigslist and couldnt find any, anyone know where id be able to get some 07 tl tails?

I just bought 2007 BASE TL (NON-TYPE S) taillights for my 2006 Royal blue pearl TL...they are an exact fit

I will post up pics to everyone

 

This has been discussed in great detail in several threads but...

if you put the base 2007 TL tails (as opposed to the TL-S tails) on an '04-'06, you should (but my understanding is do not absolutely have to) also change the LED board to an '07 base LED board because the pattern of the LEDs has been changed for the base model. This is not the case with the TL-S LED board, which is the same LED pattern as the previous model years.

I don't know what it would look like just putting the base '07 tails on with the original LED board. Since the tails aren't that different, I'd think it would look OK.

Here is my '04 TL with the '07 tails (and yes, I did also change out the LEDs)

 

its a toss up between putting on 07 tl lights, 07 TL-s lights or jus sandblasting and painting my 05 lights?

blacked out would look good too tho..im clearing and blackin out my headlights also..tring to stick with the silver/black theme..TL-s would also look great but idk

 

i might jus get the TLs lights and black out my original tails..and jus have 2 pairs of tails n when i get bored switch them out..lol

because the pattern of LED's changed for the tails on the base 07 TL models

i've never had them in my hands so i don't know, but i do know they all light up red no matter what year they are. someone needs to take a pic of the base 07 LED board so they can be compared to the rest of them

o ok, i was just going by what someone told me..i only delt with my own stock red ones on my 05 so i cant really say for sure..but i did go ahead and order the TL-s tails..correct me if im wrong but i dont think i need to change anything on the tl-s tails as it should be a perfect fit (plug and play) to my 05 stock tails
