Just joined, I haven't posted on the sticky thread yet with my specs because my '04 TL is being serviced and I don't have the vin/ color codes etc. I have been working full time in a production bodyshop for about 10 years so if you guys got any bodyshop questions, shoot me a PM.

On a further note, 2 hours after I bought the car thursday the a/c clutch went out! 2 hours! how bad does that suck. Love that acura warranty, I am in a '07 turbo rdx awd loner, it was actually suprizing especially in the handling the gas mileage is averaging about 16mpg because I can't keep it out of boost, so don't buy one if you got a heavy foot.

Thanks for having me, love the site!

Welcome to the forums.

Sorry about the a/c clutch, but warranty is good and the RDX loaner is even better.

Welcome!! I do have a body shop question....darksom1 is going to love this...can you tell me of anyone who can match my WDP bumper to the rest of my freakin' car because it's still a little mismatched after a 5 week repainting saga...and it's getting on my nerves today! Or maybe just paint the whole car black...

This sounds like a great idea...Seriously, I'd pay for it myself right now if I could get it right...Because other than this I love the car!

I am in mississippi, if you could get it here I could do it resonably. Mine is WDP too. I actually painted the rear bumper and front left fender before I bought it and matched it the first try. Pearls are freggin hard to match. Tell your painter to do this. for a perfect match you will have to blend into the adjacent panels unless you can break the color on a body line or something. Secondly, and most important, after several screw ups over the years I have found the best way to match is this, first I thought about material efficiency in the factory and material cost, tell the painter to mix THREE times as much pearl in the pearl coat and do only one coat of pearl instead of the usual 2-3 light coats. Thats how the factory does it I am sure and dunno why the paint mixing software says differently but that is the only way I have been able to get a perfect match. thats all you gotta do. just mix 3 times the pearl and do only one coat. its easy.

Oh and if you ever paint a panel off the car make sure the panel is hanging at the same angle that it would be on the car. do this because the pearl and metallic flake flows with the gravitational pull of the earth as the paint cures and shrinks down. if a bumper was hanging the wrond direction the pearl and flake will "flop" light differently and make it appear to be a different shade because they are hanging a different direction in the paint than the rest of the car.

Thanks for the warm welcome! 5plates comes from my screen name on a bodybuilding site. My goal for a long time was to bench press "5 plates" on each side I finally got it after a few years so I changed my screen name to it.

I'll have to post a pic on here, I've taken some today. Thanks for the advice, when I find a body shop I'll pass this along.

I have a friend who lives in Lake, MS. I've been there to visit but it has been years.

Its back in the shop again to get the freggin GPS fixed. I have reset it twice in an open parking lot with the windows down and it just won't get its position right, its several miles off. When i get to keep it for more than 24 hours I wash it and take some pics. I am pretty bummed out right now I have hardly even driven it.

LMAO!

I did get them to replace the HFL with the newer one and they also upgraded the RAM under warranty. I didn't know the ram was upgradable. Now I am in an "07 WDP TL loaner.
