Tail light bulb question
So I plan on doing my Tails like this here: https://acurazine.com/forums/album.p...ictureid=24469
I've never modded any cars of mine before and would like to try and do them myself for knowledge and satisfaction purposes. I already have the base and TL-S tails to do this.
So I have an 04 with the solid red tails and I am assuming the bulbs all burn white and show red because of the red coloring on the housing. If I were to do my tails like the ones shown above would I have to purchase bulbs that actually burn red or is there something inside the housing that lets them show red?
I hope that's not confusing. Thanks.

I believe all bulbs in the tails are white, except the LED board which may be red. Since you are removing all red pieces, you would have to buy other bulbs that burn in the color that you want. This is to the best of my knowledge, but hopefully will give you an idea.

^thanks. If anyone who has done this can point me in the right direction as to all I will need and maybe where you ordered them from as far as bulbs or led's go that would be cool.

you will indeed need to purchase another set of bulbs. ask ack if he has a spare set for sale. I stated the same in byzrice thread. its not impossible but its def not easy to complete the job. you have to kinda know exactly where to cut. the cutting is the "easy" part. pulling out the bezel and getting it back in withought any scratches or chips is the extremely difficult part. good luck none the less.

The LED panels shine red.
You would need LEDs for the turn signals and resistors to prevent hyperflash. The color choice is up to you, but most states require either red or amber turn signals.
That would give all of the "ghosted" portions of the lights a red glow.

I can get you an amber set of bulbs, PM me. You will need sand paper, tape, dremel, plastic cutting dremel tool, paint, primer, glue, gloves because every mark shows and sealant for the tail light job. Also, make sure you are confident in knowing where to cut and how to take the bezel out because the lens may crack if you pull too hard. Let me know if you need any help or have questions.

If you don't want to do LED\Resistor's, you can use regular incandescent bulbs. If you use a red bulb, you'll get a little red color in the lighthousing though when they're off. The other option is to use chrome coated bulbs.
I'm sure there are chrome coated 7440 bulbs out there that burn red, but I havn't really looked hard and found any yet. Here is a link however to some ones that blink amber or white. The amber is acceptable for the rear, the white usually isn't, but no one really cares so you can get away with white in the rear.
