Question A/T speed

I have a black 07 Type-S with A/T. Hey! No groaning, a M/T would be tiresome, and instead of shifting gears when I have to, I'd rather shift them whenever I have the need for speed.

I'm not a street racer so I have to ask, how do get the fastest 0-60 time?

You should use sportshift and redline your gears.
BTW does anyone know till what RPM can you hold a gear in a 5AT TL/TL-S redline shows at 6750 but im pretty sure you can take it higher to land right b4 Vtec range. ANYONE?

On the 2004-2006 TL's the redline is 6800, but the rev limiter is is 7000. By perfectly shifting and hiting 7000, you will engage VTEC in the next gear as soon as it shifts.

Its a little tricky, you dont want to bounce off the rev limiter so shift a little early. I dont think max acceleration is taking it to redline either as your torque is dropping off at that point.

i just read a few 0-60 times on cars and automatics seem to have faster times up ( stock cars) by .1 - .3 it says also off some site that automatics have an advantage due to the fact they have less gears and a person shifting looses about .1 when shifting....can some one else confirm this or prove it wrong?

A proficiently driven MT car should best its AT counterpart in acceleration....especially with smaller engined import cars. With the TL's acceleration, the 6MT is noteably quicker than the 5AT. However in some cases like the Altima 3.5SE or SE-R, the 5MT/6MT's advantage is not as great over its 5AT counterpart.

But, advances in automatic transmissions have increased their efficiency and decreased parasitic loss to the point where they come close to (or equal that of) manual trannys by incorporating features of both tranny types. Here is a good read---> LINK

It is said that the quickest shifts are DSG at .1 seconds, Manual at .2 seconds and the Automatic at .3 seconds.

The TL automatic shifts a bit slower than a good driver using a Manual transmission.
