T-Minus 1.5 hours till I leave to pick up my Type-S
After 2 months on searching and almost getting on a plane to Georgia to buy my Type-S, one miraculously popped up on Autotrader less than 100 miles away at a Honda dealer.
It's been 3 weeks since I threw myself (and my money) sight unseen at this 2007 Type-S with 6 delicious forward gears and it's hot sister the 3rd pedal, black with 57k miles and the day is finally here.
I have a meeting at 3, guess how much fucks I'm going to give for its duration?
The best part? Sales guy told me that 3rd gear popped out of position 3 out of 10 times while they were driving it so they were going to take it to the local Acura dealership to get it looked at... In my zeal to get this car right friggin' now, I almost let slip with the Delco syncromesh trick I learned here on Acurazine but didn't say anything.
Hence the 3 weeks... new 3rd gear syncros and, oh, by the way, since we had it all apart, we're going to throw on a new clutch while we're at it.
Apparently, and validity unproven (but I don't care), the work was done under warranty. They were considering sending the car to auction b/c they felt they didn't want to get involved in what they say was a $3,000 service bill.
Either way, I win and at a price of $21,500, a true double winner. For the first time in my 20+ years of buying cars, I feel like I'm not getting screwed... in fact, I feel like I totally got over on everyone
tl;dr - getting my Type-S this afternoon, friggin' stoked, got a hell of a deal.
Pictures when I get them.

The internet sales manager told me he had a silver one and it was cleaner than his.
He also said he had calls coming in from all over the country for that car.
Hopefully I upload this correctly; only 1 from my iPhone, will take better pictures with my SLR at Cars and Coffee tomorrow.

Had a pretty fun ride home playing with everything while pretending to pay attention to the road. Couple of things I need to do almost immediately though:
1. Freaking black-out tint on the driver and passenger window has to go... I'm old, I can't see shit through it at night. It's also got a strip across the top of the windshield that must come off.
2. The previous owner had a sub system in the car and the cabling is still there; props for use 0 gauge ground monster cable though. Bass is a little weak on the stock system so I'll need to see where all the wires go and either pull them or use them for a tube of some sort.
3. Need to definitely get one of the mentioned iPhone/Pod connections. I don't listen to the radio much anyway and having to unlock my phone to skip songs is probably dangerous. Also want to be able to skip through songs with the steering wheel controls.
4. Need to find about getting probably 2 remotes and then getting them coded. Only have the #2 and the valet and the #2 is a little wobbly (key doesn't recess in as it should).
All the manuals came with the car so I have some enjoyable reading to do tonight to program all the sexy hotness.
Thanks to all for your kind words and wishes!

Buy the car one day and show it off at Cars and Coffee the next. Hope you had fun showing it off. Waiting on more pix.
Don't forget to register her at myacura.com, save the radio and navi codes there. Congrats!

It's funny, I've been dying to hit up the local Cars/Coffee but was rather embarrassed to go without a decent car.

I know what you mean man. Whenever I go, I don't park my car in the show area out of courtesy (don't get me wrong, I love my car and I would love to show others). But there's always a few people in riced out camrys and civics who think that it's their god given right to park their rides there. Then they get butt frustrated when a coordinator asks them if they can park their cars in the parking structure to make space for the cars that deserve to be shown.
