Probably a dumb question but here we go, I bought a switchblade off of craigslist in the dfw area for $15. It's got the FCC for a 08 tsx but I said what the hell and bought it anyways. So my question is, is there any way to change or switch the FCC with another fob or did I just get a great deal on something I can't use. I'm just looking for any way to make it compatible with my 06 tl because my last fob broke some how in my jacket pocket and I feel like doing a cheap DIY before buying a new one from heeltoe

^You can either do that or just by a pre-modifed switchblade key online and have it programmed at the dealership.

 

Are you referring to the FCC or transponder chip. If it's the chip, you can take one of your stock keys, and cut the chip out. That's what I did for mine. Also, try calling some locksmiths. Most can program transponder chips now, but you need all your keys there when it's being done. I had a locksmith do my accord style key cut and programmed for $25.

Now the FCC, I'm not sure about. I think if you could find a cheap TL switchblade you could just swap the whole inside with your key.
