Switchblade key in 05 TL

hi guys i am looking to pick up an 05 TL tonight or tomorrow morning. i called the dealer and he said that they 07+ keys will not work because of a different key and cylinder. i've read around that a lot have it in their 04-06. is there something special i have to do? has anybody gotten the switchblade from the dealer? thanks.

I made my own but if I had to do it again I would just go with Heeltoe definitely worth it.

Sweet ! I didn't know this was possible...and they work well? What do you do to get it programmed for your specific TL?

i took it one step further than everyone else here, and changed the ignition switch. no milling of the keys, and my car now as a laser cut switch. also cost me a 1/4 of what everyone is paying for these

i did this about 4-5 years ago. pictures are long gone

on ebay i found an ignition switch with the laser cut keys

since it's an exact fit to the TL, i replaced mine with that one. took the 2 chips from the old TL keys, and placed them into the new TL switchblade key. then sent them to someone i used to know at a honda dealership with the original accord key, and he cut both keys for me for free
