So I got my sills last week and I didn’t pay attention to the fact that they are "overlays" after some thought I decided to get them powder coated black at my buddy’s shop... Here are the results.

I have my passenger side installed, haven’t snapped photos yet. I am in the process of modding my front bumper but will post back later this week with them installed.

No wonder. I thought there were two different sets off illuminated sills for the different year models. That probably made it a lot easier to produce and send out having only one set.

haha I was going to have them tape those off but the type of material it is "plastic" wouldn’t work well. I honestly like the clear look in the center they look sick at night. idk my friend still wants to try taping it off and just using paint but I am iffy about it lol.

yup looks like the harness is bad....you should have 1 black wire from each connector and 1 red is connected between the connectors and 1 red unconnected from a connector...

so you have 3 unconnected wires (2 black, 1 red) and 1 red connected wire between the connectors....

what you can try doing is....pop the black wire which is connected between the connectors from the connector sitting on the left in the pic....try to pop it or just cut it....this should solve the issue....

Yeah i had one like that also. Just cut the black wire that attaches both clips together... You can pop it off also but looking at the clip, there is a small metal "lift" that holds the end inside the clip. jsut push that down a bit so it clears the clip when pulling it out.

Supercomputers, I'm so considering this but my dilema is that I'm really not that car technical savvy and have this fear that if I take out some parts off my TL, I'd probably end up not putting them back in its original form and I'd be really devastated...if I can find someone here in Toronto who can help me out and learn at the same time, I'll gladly get these...but I most certainly would like to install these as soon as I get it if I can find a fellow AcuraZine member to help me out...

will tell you one thing by experience bro....

the more you turn that wrench on your car....the more you get emotionally attached to it....i love working on my car....i baby her....yes the first mod was under someones guidance but with the DIY (Do It Yourself) guides on any installs on this site plus the members willing to help, it is a piece of cake to install anything....

i can proudly say all the mods on my car are done by me....

about the sills...the best part is you dont have to take anything out....you just take some plastic covers out for the wires....and boom your connected....these sills go over the stock sills so you dont really have to worry about replacing them....

there is a DIY thread for the sills which tells you what wire to connect where and you will be golden....

i bugged supercomputers for a year to come back with this coz I LOVE this mod....and this is here for a limited time....if I were you, I would buy them

I get that bro...I'm still not too confident on having the mods done without the guidance of someone present...I also read from supercomputer that the DIY for this maybe different because of the LED style...I usually rely more on training or having someone present to show me it's because I learn fast...I don't know swoosh...call it the Murphy's Law syndrome I guess...

We may not be there in person to help, but if you have a question snap a photo and we can help answer it. Example if you are unsure which "wire" to clamp into. Most of the DIY's are straight forward and the guys do a great job on the steps. I agree with swoosh, you feel really good about the mods you do on your ride. Even if you reference a DIY it is still you doing the work and taking the time to see how others did it helps you figure out the best / easiest way without diving into the unknown. I always seek DIY's even if I knew I could figure something out, because I like to see if someone ran into a small issue or maybe something I might look over.

If you still don’t feel comfortable doing it, you can always take them to a Stereo shop those guys normally can and will install any electronics just tell them you want them to come on and off when the door opens / closes. They will go at it.

Thanks guys appreicate the response to all these guys. Keep in mind once this is wrapped up we are donating 5.00 per set to Acuars Charity Childs Play. Same one we dontate to every Christmas. Reason for that was to help a good cause in the process.

As for the DIY there are a few floating around out there. Also if at all hesitant Just bring them to any radio shop and they can pop them in in 30 Min. Real easy.

Either Way Enjoy.

Just so you know here is whats left until this Mod is officaly over. Grab them now becuase I can promise you this will be it.

Thanks for the DIY link...I may just be tempted to do it on my own (here's hoping)

Thanks for that encouragement xtmslyy00, however after reading the DIY, I am going to check some local stereo shops first and find out how much they would charge me for the install, or do you have any idea what these guys usually charge for this kind of installation job? Is it wise to print the DIY and show it to these guys just in case?

OK I decided I want these. But the color choice is killing me.

I think white would look the most professional/clean, but blue is more exciting, and Red which match my CBP TL-S interior lighting.

BLAH What to choose!
