Supercomputer Lighted Door Sills; FEW SETS LEFT+Donation to Holiday Charity Drive
#721
I'm deployed overseas, thinking about getting a set for a 'gift' to myself when I get back. What would you guys recommend for an 06 Anthracite Base TL, with the gray interior? White or blue? I know the lights inside are blue, but wasn't sure if blue sills would work for a married guy with kids.
Any ideas?

White would make it look like a feature that came almost standard on the car and wouldnt draw too much attention. I opted for blue, but that also because I installed some blue footwell LEDs, so I wanted the sills to match when opening the door
I dont think you can go wrong with either color, just the Blue looking like more of a "custom modification" then the white would

Still a newbie here...
Since I'm a new member to AcuraZine, I can't PM him until at least 15 days have passed according to the notice.
Can I get someone to PM him on my behalf? I'd really love to get in on these blue sills if they are still available.

Can anyone help me please? I've been looking for the 12V power source, the blue with gray stripe, and I can't find it. I'm working on the passenger side right now. What other wire is a 12V source?

Nevermind. I found the post about the red and white strip. I just finished my sills! Can't wait til it gets dark. I took pics and will try to write a DIY and post it by tonight!

Alright, I was tired of waiting for a DIY and decided to give it a try with the instructions that were already out there. Everything went well and I wrote up a DIY here:

kinda got a problem, hoping Supercomputers can give me an answer for a fix
finally got around to installing the sills today. long story short, i was able to install the driver side front, rear, and passenger rear.
the last one i got to was my passenger front. after splicing a wire for a 12v source, i tested the sill to make sure it lit up and it worked. i than removed the sill from my door, went inside to test fit the last door sill i had.
as soon as i put it ontop of the old sill, something didnt seem right... have a look yourself
when i try and slide it all the way up, the metal part from the sill hits the plastic part on the oem sill that curves up...
but when i flip it upside down, (ACURA IS UPSIDE DOWN) it slides in for a good fit
i checked the driver side sill to see maybe i installed it on the wrong side, but the driver side looks perfect.
to me it looks like my ACURA led logo was placed on the sill upside down

genius thanks. i was thinking about doing this but didn't think the acura logo would be able to come off.
turns out the acura logo is held on by some really thin double sided tape (re-useable if you peel the led logo off slowly).
the secret is to hold onto the sill and use your two thumbs and put pressure on it but very very slowly but steady. slowly add more and the tape will start to let go and slowly work your way down or up. dont try to rush and pull it or push the fuck out of it cause the double sided tape will stretch / rip and you wont be able to put it back on.
thanks!

I like the all blue theme and these really complete the look. I bought the red ones b/c they were all I could find. It shouldn't be difficult to find them a new home.
Thank you again for making these happen. I also have the roof spoiler you put together!

Those pedals are the best, may be one of my favorite mods I have done. Not gonna lie though, drilling the holes for the brake pedal was a total bitch, not a big area to work in....
Maybe this batch can come with some sort of backing/foam tape? I remember I had to pad the hell out of the brake pedal so those little rubbed grips wouldnt become pressed in....

As for installation, I removed the rubber pad from the brake pedal and attached the cover to that, then slipped it back on the brake pedal. It was MUCH easier than trying to drill through the brake pedal itself and it has held for quite some time now. Here is the DIY I used and commented on:

I purchased a set from Unique Style Racing---pretty much identical to SC's pedals.
