cliff, I know exactly what you mean. I first went to the dealer I purchased my TL at and they rolled their eyes when I asked them to replace the seat cover. That was enough reason never to go back there. By the way, here is the invoice I promised. For obvious reasons, I had to blank out some of the personal information.

honda only, went back today and they said it was out of the goodwill of your dealership and that they are not doing it.

this dealership really has an attitude problem. just because they lowered my car, they assumed that the rattle was from there and they denied warrenty work. i think its because im only a kid and they take advantage of me.

im not going back to this dealership anymore. waste of my gas, time, and breath.

I'm sorry to hear that Cliff. Unfortunately, your dealer is right. My dealer didn't have to replace the seat covers on my TL. I just lucked out and found a customer service rep who really knows how to go the extra mile for a customer. I was so impressed with the way he treated me.

Before you close the door on the dealer you went to, make sure your other local dealers aren't any worse. I was not happy with the dealer I bought my TL from, but I had no idea if the others in my city were any better. You just have to shop around and pick the one that sucks the least. I went to another dealer first and then when they agreed to replace my seat covers, I called the other one and told them why I would never come back to their dealership and why I would tell all my friends to never visit them. I wasn't upset, but I made it very clear to them that I didn't believe what they were telling me.

Butt Print update 04 vs 05

I have 2 TL's and 05 quartz and a 04 parchment. I drove the 04 for 5,000 miles without the slightest butt print before my wife took over the car.
Within a week of driving the new 05 quartz, there is a big ass print in the seat.

The leather in the parchment seems a bit more firm and duravble than the quartz. From personal experience the problem is not fixed in the 05.

I think what really makes the difference is how the seat cover is installed. Mine is an 05 cover, but it doesn't puff out like the one on the 05 model. Instead of looking like two humps on the seat bottom, it's completely flat with an extra stitch in the middle. I think this just illustrates that the problem isn't simply in the design, but also in how the factory is installing it. What does it say when an upholstery shop can do a better job installing a seat cover than the manufacturer?

No, when I say flat, I mean completely flat so that if you were eating something while sitting in the driver's seat, no crumbs would get trapped in between the two small panels on the seat bottom. I've seen the RL and its seat bottom is not completely flat.
