Yesterday I went to the dealership to check out the tl type s, took test drove it and what not. I'm planning to purchase in May, but the floor manager kept telling me they're stopping shipment of the type s to hawaii because the navigation or whatever is not necessary here since it doesnt work.
I think its horsecrap. If anything should I just be safe and jump on it now since theres only one carbon bronze pearl left (but not that ready) or take my chances in may. if worse comes to worse im going for the is350, but i want the type S!

I think it is stupid that Acura doesn't have maps for Hawaii for the navi on any of their vehicles except the RL... Acura has a large customer base here in Hawaii, probably higher per capita than most areas, yet they ignore this market.
I do not understand what is so hard about creating an updated DVD with maps of Hawaii.
That being said, I doubt Acura is stupid enough to DENY Hawaii Type S units just because there are no maps of Hawaii. If anything, the dealership may have just not ordered enough units.
For the most part Pflueger tries not to order Navi units as the navi doesn't work here, but they do bring them in. Especially now for some units that require the Tech package for features like HFL.
Perhaps the salesperson was just trying to make a sale? Last time I was in there (before the Type S came out) I saw an MDX and RDX both with navi in the showroom. I also saw an RL with Navi, but that should work here.
I bought my TL used, so never dealt with any of the Pfueger's salespeople. From the short time I was there for servicing they all seemed nice. I do know Colin Sato from back when he used to work at Island Sounds and he is a good guy. He is a regular here at Acurazine and has his own webpage www.satoauto.com. I believe he is in charge of 'internet sales'. Try giving his a call and ask him whats up and if its true.

Pflugger Acura Sucks. Honestly for the $4,000 mark up that the dealer charges on the price as stated right in the window sticker you can buy a California model and have it shipped over here for cheaper.

yea the mark up is crazy. the car as is no options is OTD 33.7k which is about the same as a nearly fully loaded is350. hopefully when i make the "commitment" to buy i can bring that down more

sounds like a scare tactic to get you to buy the one off his lot. Yeah, maybe there's no maps for hawaii but for that to be the reason not to sell TL-s's, that's the biggest crock of shizzle that I have ever heard - for rizzle!

According to their website, they have 2 Carbon Bronze AT, 3 Silver AT, 1 Blue AT, and 1 Black MT Type-S models in stock.
Don't know how often they update their site though...
Have you tried using a service like Costco or Sam's Clubs Auto Buy Programs to help purchase the car? Usually they have a set deal setup with the dealership of Invoice + x% or Invoice + $x. Every dealer is different, but the amount should be prenegotiated by Costco / Sam's. For example, it might be invoice + 5%. I do not know what Pflueger's deal is. Might help...
If you buy one, don't forget to show them your Hawaiian Miles card. They will give you 10,000 bonus miles which equals an interisland round trip.

How much did you end up paying out the door? Including Destination, Taxes, Doc Fees, etc? What kind of rate and term did you get on your financing?
What kind of exhaust did you get?
