Hey guys, like the title states, my TL-S was stolen this morning sometime after 230am. Right off of my driveway. Wtf.. and people wonder why Brampton insurance rates are so Damn high.. smh. Just posting this to let u guys know to be careful..

I didn't think Brampton rates were high because of car theft, I always thought it was because they were full of scammers and accident rates.

Will keep an eye out for anything suspicious that shows up

Where about was your TL-S stolen? Maybe I can keep an eye out if you give a plate number

Definitely check Kijiji and what not for parts if the car was stolen for a chop shop

its been almost a full day... haven't heard anything as yet, starting to lose hope.. mtiaz the plates are BWTX 700.. thx for the support guys. i bought that car as a birthday gift to myself last march.. didn't even have it for a year... when it rains it pours...

I keep mine parked in the garage every single day of the year. We actually had our old CRV stolen off of our drive way several years back (it was later found in malvern abandoned however insurance had already paid us so it was the insurance's problem)

Well on to the next one bud. Will keep an eye out for it, don't see much Type S's on the road in the winter.

 

Damn, if you don't mint me asking...was it running/parked? Its kind of hard to steal these cars but being so popular now most grab them for parts.

It happened between 2:30 AM and 7:30 AM, I assume he was sound asleep with the car off.

 

I always keep my TL-S in my garage too. Even a guy a bought waffles from had his TL-S stolen in Woodbridge at the Hwy 7 & Weston...

How easy is it to steal these cars? Thought the anti-theft & engine immobilizer system would be good at preventing theft of these cars...

 

Probably not easy to start and drive away, but put 2 wheels up on a tow truck and haul it away- that unfortunately takes seconds to do.

especially if the car is parked nose out with the front 2 wheels closer to the street... back up the tow truck and up and gone quick...

This is crazy! i literally live 40 mins from you..i honestly never leave my car outside unless i have a good view of it all times..call me paranoid but nowhere is safe.

 

I can't imagine how integra/civic SiR owners feel lol, I think 90% of guys I know who own either has had them stolen in the GTA. Can't deal with that level of paranoia

Damn man, I'm sorry to hear. Now I know why my aunt insists I park my car in her garage when I drive up to Canada in the TL. I'll tell them to keep an eye out as well, they're right on the border of Brampton and Mississauga so hopefully they can keep an eye out.

 

If they steel my TL i will be crying because whats in it... TL could always be replaceable

His sound and display system. he's been working on it for a year and i don't feel right saying how much it costs haha

 

thx for the love n support guys. its been over a week and still nothing, no calls coming from police or insurance. the car was not running and locked (plus ive got a remote start with an engine immobilizer of which i still have the fobs. assuming it was towed away at this point. and mau108 has the right idea. i have no idea what was done to (or in!) the car, what problems mechanical cosmetic or otherwise i'll face, not to mention these guys know where i live; whats to stop them from just stealing it again? after calling the insurance adjuster 3-4 times a day, i finally got a voicemail saying there's noting to update and they'll dettle with me next week. i'll keep u guys posted. thing that really sucks is that the TL has always been my favorite car (looks, performance etc) and i was never even able to afford even a base. i managed to buy this type-s as a birthday gift for myself last march... didn't even have it for a year. now the bday is coming up and i'm a pedestrian.. fml. #endrant

im sorry to hear that this happened to you man. it def must suck and I'm sure you are very upset. but as stated above, that's what insurance is for and hopefully you can get your self back into another tl. goodluck with it all and keep us updated.
