i modified my battery wiring years ago for my sound system. last time i took my car in for maintenance, the local shop mentioned something about me missing proper ground wires...as far as i can remember, the only stock ground wire is a short lead from the battery's negative terminal to the chassis, and there's no stock grounding strap on the engine itself. is this right, or am i misremembering?
There is an engine to chassis braided strap at the side motor mount. I just changed mine yesterday, it was green and weak looking like dried grass. I used a larger generic braid strap i had to wiggle n squeeze in there

could this cau battery light to stay on leading to no starts?
If you didn’t find out yet the battery light is on because your alternator is bad and your car is running off the battery and eventually it will die and you will get stuck
