I am looking at Acura TLs again and I have found lots in my price range, including some 05-06s that are close to same privce, give or take a couple of bucks. What would your recommendation be? Should I get a 05 and be happy or go for a 06?

 

Not much difference between a '05-'06, wheels and TPMS. Just get the best conditioned, lowest mileage car with nav available in your color choice and price range.

 

I agree. I have an 06 and would go for a clean 05 with lower miles over an 06 that is not as clean and higher miles. There's a much more drastic change between 06 & 07 which might be more tempting depending on the price delta.

 

06 is also the first with my color combo - WDP w/Black

 

If the miles and pricing is fairly close, go for an 06; it's a year newer and has TPMS in it along with a few minor other changes that most people will never know of.

 

tpms is a bitch if you are going to upgrade your wheels, 5 minutes into my drive i get my tpms light on which i dont mind so with that being said i would suggest an 05

In that FS thread it looks like the seats and carpeting have been swapped from another TL.

 

06 has a slimmer ballast so less hassle for switching to 07+ headlights

 

Guess I'm not too observant, as you're 100% correct and doing more investigation, it looks as if the '04/'05 WDP was only available with Parchment or Quartz interior, not Black until '06 as stated above.

 

+1 - Always go with the newer model year as every year technology improves and bugs are worked out from the previous years.

 

06 was the first year for ASM!

 

thanks for the input guys, I am looking at a 05 63k miles. Real clean WDP with the gray interior. Its priced so good and its the color i wanted.
