You better make sure you kill them otherwise they will come back and sue your ass. Seen it happen many of times.

You should have hit the panic button on the key fob. I'm sure at that point you weren't thinking about doing that, just getting to your car before they broke in. If you were far you could have held the key fob up to your chin, somehow it increases the range, I do it when I forget where I park......hit the lock button and listen for the beep. I think if you have the old school metal fillings it will increase the range of your remote. Just like an antena.
