Staying Stock with your Type S TL??
I am staying stock for now with my 08 Type S 6 speed. I love it as is. Considering high flow cats, and 3rd version J pipe to delete the third cat, but stock for now.
What about everybody else with Type S'?

hey stealth civic!
trying not to be mean, but this is a weird topic!
as you can see from the multitude of threads, MOST people here on acurazine have chosen to modify their TL's.
and those that dont, leave it stock because it is pretty and everything they wanted in a car.
and yes, I have a crystal ball.
and yes, Undying dreams is being sarcastic, as most every one here as modified the TL in one way or another.

I'll add gas to the fire and say that I'm mostly stock too. The only mods I have are CAI (previous owner), LED front and rear turn signals, cabin/trunk lighting, license plate lights, and reverse lights.
justnspace is right - I have no interest in further modding for that exact reason: I like the car just the way it is, and it really is everything I've wanted in a car.

Mine is completely stock aside of what is in my signature and all of the interior / license plate lights have been replaced with LED's.
If I'm going to mod it then it'll all be done at once so it doesn't look odd when I do one mod and not another (ie. ASPEC kit, drop, window visors, 19" wheels).
The TL, let alone the Type S, looks amazing while being stock and you can always mod it at a later date. I love city you live in too, OP. I might be there sometime in June for a weekend vacation.

I'm mostly stock except for LED's and tint
Instead of spending lots o'cash on wheels and suspension mods, I'd rather spend it on maintenance (and maybe on a used NBP A-Spec kit)
But I must admit I enjoy reading through the Photograph Gallery threads

i am reading that every one is modded in some sort of way, whether it be LED's or radio stuff to simple stuff.
instead of having only 2 outcomes, modded or stock...you should have phrased your question as:
for the fellas that remain as close as stock as possible, what are your reasons? is cost a factor? is there something that you would like to do?
these open ended questions will provide more dialog and conversation rather than just yes or no.

hint* we all have seen your exhaust threads and know you are on the fence, modding it.
by having open ended questions, you'll get more responses on why some people mod and why some dont.
this will give you insight on whether or not you should.

i think the car looks great stock but it just depends on your preference, money, and time. some go all out and some keep it as is. the majority on the forum are modded in one way or another

You idiots that have modded your car, please stay out of this thread, and stop being jealous of those that are stock, or close to stock. A stock Type S (especially with an Acura ASPEC kit) is beautiful! No need to ruin it with a cat back with big exhaust tips, or droning sound that sounds ridiculous.

its the way you phrased the question. I helped you with the wording to get better responses:

But in all honesty leaving it stock is fine, however if you want to enjoy your car more & you have the money to spend, why not?
Personally, I would start off with the J-pipe if some added power is your goal. After that I'd look into the high flow cats or cat deletes.
However I would recommend starting off with weight reduction and suspension first! These will be a LOT more noticeable than 10WHP (will you really feel a 4% power increase everyday?) I'd suggest a Comptech or Progress Rear Sway Bar, perhaps better tires and as well the weight reduction.
This is not to say a J-pipe isn't a good mod, but rather to say that the best bang for your buck is with suspension/weight first.

To me, that is modding your TL-S. That's a good mod though, going A-Spec. I guess it's all open to interpretation. FYI, when you post a thread anywhere on the internet, you don't have any control over who responds to it.

As for my Type S you can call it basically stock. With this one it's just a few simple ones that can be completely reversed if I so wanted. 35% tint, osram interior and license plate LED's, and VLED Triton LED's. Other than that I dig the car the way it is. I have learned from previous cars that most of the time when I mod a car I end up not liking the mod after about a week lol. For example jpipe. $400 bucks and I felt nothing. Went back to stock and car felt like it gained power especially on hot summer days...go figure. Lowering springs...car rode like crap on bumps. Went back to stock and wish I never wasted my time doing the job. So anyway, I think you get my point. Plus for some reason I always feel when a car is taken apart and put back together more often than not something breaks or doesn't go back together as good as it was from the factory. So I have learned to just leave shit alone haha.

get those and then I will agree that you have the "total kit"
also, the definition of "modifying" is to "make a change to something"...so unless your aspec parts came with the car, you modified it.

the point is, people are different.
they have different reasons to mod or to not to mod.
there was only two outcomes of this thread.
modded or not.
cant see how you cant see that. lol
GGESQ, could you add a poll?
modded or stock.
and ANY deviation away from the factory is modded

where is your aspec steering wheel, aspec rear brake pads, and aspec badge?
get those and then I will agree that you have the "total kit"

You critical A$$ho*e!! I bought my Type S used, so I have no control of that, I will take a picture for you, I have my aspec badge for you, and steering wheel.

you started the thread, now deal with the un-wanted responses.
if you phrased your question better....
