Stay or Go

I got a letter from the dealer where I purchased my 2008 TL/Navi from about selling it back to them. I still have a job and am under no financial stress to sell my baby, but the thought has cross my mind. The TL is an 2008 TL and has navi, color matched mud flaps, lip spioler, (2) oem car cover, rubber floor mats and A-Spec rims. The only reason why I would even sell this is that I do not drive it....exactly 2 years old this past valentines day with only 3,200 miles. What is everyone's thoughts and opinions.

Thanks

Tough call. If it's of no use to you then selling may be a good option. But then again, if you have no financial worries then keep it. Personally, if you wanted an extra car for fun that barely gets driven, I'd get a Corvette.

If you want to sell it, sell it yourself. With such low miles you could get pretty good $ for it but not from the dealership. Its up to you but my advice would be to NOT go through the dealership.

question, why dont you drive it?

That's marketing; they don't want your car, they want to sell you a new one. Considering your situation, you should sell the TL on your own (not to the dealer) and get something more "fun".

Yes, it is a marketing ploy to get you into a new car. That being said, it might be something worth looking into. Because you're not under any duress to get another vehicle they would have to offer you an absolutely killer deal to get you to budge. I have an 08/navi as well and if my dealer sent me that kind of letter I would check it out.

Sometimes buy back is less than what the car is worth. I would purchase it and even if you do not want it, you should sell it and I guarantee you will make money with a 08 and 3,200 miles.

its a scam to keep you making payments thru acura finance for years to come
I get those notes to buy an rsx back that I never had!

Anything to get those new cars off the lot, and resell a great used TL at a huge profit... again
Its the great `cycle of life` in the auto biz

To answer that question, my other cars are a 06 RL/navi and a 06 Nissan Sentra. I mainly drive the Sentra to put miles on and save gas. The wife drives the RL. I got the TL because I love how it looks. If any thing I might trade the TL in for a new G-37, got to love that RWD.
