repainting advice?

so after about half of year of rolling around with a repainted bumper i can't stand it anymore. the color difference is just too atrocious to deal with imo. i happen to be ocd about my car as well which probably doesn't help. (even going to eventually pay for a new tint job cuz the hairline scratches. moleskin next time around.)

heres my car in the current state:

these pictures show what im talking about the best. so i was just hoping to get some advice on what to do...

1. the difference is only on one side of the bumper, and i got my dealership to repaint it the first time so it should be still under warranty. is it even worth going back and asking them to make it better? what would i even say to them?

or

2. i been having this idea that my best bet to get a pre-painted bumper since they dont make em anymore, would be to find a junked TL and try to get a bumper like that in good condition... probably a long stretch... but anyone know if thats possible and how would i go about to doing something like that?

any advice appreciated. if you've experienced the same thing i wouldn't mind hearing what you did about it. thanks.

You need to have it repainted and blended in the the rear quarter panel.

well if you take it to a good painter they will blend the paint in and you wont notice the shade differences from panel to panel. they would need to paint the lip too.

if they paint the lip will the other side of the lip be noticeably different color and do you think the dealer would re do it under warranty?

no. They will blend everything in and you wouldnt notice any changes. As far as the warranty goes it probably depends on the dealer and how long ago you had it done.

The problem with any repaint is the painter and his/her talent. You can blend a color into the quarter, but if it's a different shade it will make it look worse as it’s over a larger area.

A good painter will take spray samples to ensure that the color match is perfect. It can be done, but most don't want to spend the time, nor does the owner of the vehicle want to spend the money.

When I had the front bumper and fender repainted on our WDP TL, although costly, it matched the body perfectly, no difference between the hood/fenders/bumper. Only regret is that I should have had the rear bumper done at the same time and didn’t.

I really don't have much faith in most shops, and when you consider all the shops throughout the country, how many are at the top of their game, not many.
