Sprint Booster

Have you guys heard of this?

it deletes the lag time time from the ECU giving you better acceleration. they dont make any for TL's but i noticed they have them for Accords...i was wondering if it would be possible to use the accord one on the TL?? anyone on here tried?

hmm...sounds pretty good. I wonder if this can be purchased online and if I install this myself? Or does it recommend a professional installation.

Did you not watch the video? It is a direct plug DIY install. No cutting required. It interfaces with the electronic interface at the peddle. The hardest part is taking the cover off under the knee bolster. I replaced my gas pedal to the type-s one and this would be 10x easier.

I would like to see more info on it. How does it work, what is it doing to the signal to increase the acceleration and response?

Yes I watched the video. The video does not ay anything about DIY, it does say its a simple install but if you look at the area where this is installed, that is where all the electrical wiring is and I wouldn't want to mess something up.

I am working to find out if this will work. It shows to be available for the Civic, CRV and RDX.

Link to sales site.

I wouldn't think that Honda would engineer a different plug for every car in their line up with DBW. So right now I have to assume that the plugs should all be the same or at least pretty similar. It looks like the device itself is a voltage enhancer. It looks to amplify the output signal to increase the throttle response.

Reading there FAQ page, it is not a software enhancement, but a hardware enhancement. If anyone can get the part #'s for the DBW on the TL, civic, rdx, CRV or even the S2000 along with some pictures, we can try and compare.

Don't mind me, I am just being a smart arse. Looking at their site, it states that it is a DIY and should be able to be done in 10 mins.

Message from Sprint Booster.

Hi Jason,

Thank you for your interest with the Sprint Booster.

For your 2005 Acura TL, you can use the same Sprint Booster as the Honda S2000. That is part number SPR1037.

Best regards,
Ken

So the graph indicates that this $279 device simply makes the accelerator pedal more sensitive, right? This doesn't make the car any faster... just harder to drive smoothly. I think I'll save the money for something worthwhile, and just move my right foot a bit more.

Will be the ginney pig here. Going to get it tomorrow at acura woodbine. Will share the details. Having read up alot on it in the BMW forums the vast majority swear by it. It's suppose to reduce the lag time. Even if you mash the pedal there will be lag, this is suppose to eliminate it. They are selling them for $279. Will post results in the next couple of days.

I find it hard to believe no one has commented about the full throttle lag being the same with and without this device since most here seem to drive balls to the wall

Just by reading info from other forums and people who have been runnimg this device for over 1 year, there seems to be an improvement of the lag at full throttle also. I guess i will find out tomorrow.

Cool Wow!!!!

WOT is WOT!! And this is BS!! Look at the graph. Just hit the gas, and you will see the same thing with or without this piece of BS!!

Come on now, just think for a sec. Voltage enhancer? Please , if this was needed the Acura would have " made it so"!

Before you start being so negative about this why dont you take some time and do some research on it. Go on the BMW or MB boards and see what people who actually used the product have to say about it.

Spirit man, acura could have made so much stuff better in our cars. What u just said what stupid. We coulda had more torque in our engines, that would be better for our cars, but did that happen NO!!!!!

keep it calm guys...

from what i have read on the BMW forums and other sources, its seems that this device basically changes the sensitivity of the pedal, so:
If you used to press it all the way down for WOT
After you can press the pedal 3/4 the way and get WOT

basically it increases the rate at which WOT is reached based on pedal input. I seriously doubt that it eliminates the lag as the lag itself is caused by the car's computer calculating numerous factors such as engine temps, oil temps, etc.

I AGREE... I think this voltage/current signal amplification will just make your gas pedal more sensitive, say, to WOT at 3/4 throttle..just to make you think your car is reacting faster...but then you have a 1/4 dead spot at the top end of the pedal...thereore, u just move your foot less... just my opinion. There HAS to be much more work required to eliminate ECU/throttle response lag.
I too, raise the BS flag. But would love to be proven wrong! Flick, your a trooper! keep us posted!

I agree with what your saying. I think by the pedal being a bit more responsive you get to WOT a few fractions of a second quicker. I mean at the end of the day that's what we get with most mods a couple of thenths of a second here and there if we are lucky. How much of a difference does thermal spacers and a pulley make? Even it won't make the car much faster i think it could make a bit more fun driving. We'll see !

Cool WOW again......

I thought that is what I said(who needs a throttle exciter!). Then I read something like English "What u just said what stupid." What is that? Don't you ever proof read?

I am not talking about market strategy here. But if Acura wanted us to have WOT, like all the time. Just put in a switch. Whamo...... Full on!

I don't need to read what others have said. This is a poor idea. If you understood - then tell me what is a Voltage enhancer?
