Sportshifting

Sportshifting
This is just an arbitrary question about sportshifting. Lets say you are in 3rd going 60, if you switch over to auto will it automatically jump to 5th, or will it work its way back up, i.e. go to 4th than to 5th. I have done this before, and it feels like it just jumps to 5th... Will this kind of messing around with the sport shifting hurt the tranny?? Also I wanted to know about the VTEC, when exactly does it kick in?? Is it rpm or speed initiated?
thnx, any feedback will be appreciated

VTEC=4700 rpm
And using SS won't hurt the tranny. I don't think there is any way you can hurt this tranny, because the computer protects you and the tranny from harm.
It has a rev limiter that will cut the fuel to the engine off and on when you get to the limit. Feels like hell but it works. And it has a lockout so you can't shift into reverse when you are going faster than 5-6 mph.
Drive it like it is supposed to be driven and you will enjoy it.
