A-spec Discontinued

I just spoke with my dealer and he called the regional parts manager was told the A-spec kit has been discontinued. This thought meshes with some of the places known to part out A-spec kits being out of stock. I am curious as to what they might be bringing out ...???

If it is, in fact, discontinued, who says they're bringing out anything at all?

Grrrr I hope not. Been waiting for my car for 4 months. If I talk to my dealer next week and he tells me he cant get the A-Spec kit I'm gonna be pissed. ($5000 richer, but still pissed)

I dont know about you guys, but I wasnt too impressed by the ASpec kit. It looked just like the underbody kit + spoilers that people could buy, and it didnt really stand out like the ASpec concept did. I know most of the changes are not visible, but is it really worth $5200?

5200 retail / 4000 street (installed) seems like a fair deal. A lot of dealers really take advantage of people - which is a shame.

I want the springs/shocks & brake pads. Maybe we can split a kit?

Spyfish, you beat me to the punch on that one......I have no use for the rims, tires, kit , badge.....but I think the suspension, decklid spoiler, brake pads and steering wheel I'd be willing to buy.

I hope this is true, but only if they are going to sell A-Spec parts later, especially the suspension (which I think should be on EVERY TL anyway). Or if they release the other A-Spec concept mentioned above.

Just FYI, in case you don't know, the A-Spec concept is the car on the top logo area of this site.

yeah there is no need to split a kit. if you want just the body it its between 800-1000 depending on where you look. the suspension is about 600-700.

Please direct me to where I can get the suspension. I have tried one recommended place and they were out of stock.

You can get A spec kits on ebay from acura dealers with warranties for cheap. Just saw full kit for $3999

For those who just want certain parts of the kit, try Falconi Acura in Las Vegas. They have kits on eBay usually and will part out just about anything. You can also avoid shipping if your on the left coast and dont mind driving down to Vegas for the weekend (Twist my arm why dont ya)

Sorry to interupt and get back to the topic of Aspec discontinuation.

Hypothetically:
Say it is discontinued or altered. Now I have an '04 Aspec kit and God Forbid some piece breaks, I won't be able to get it replaced because they don't make it anymore? Doesn't sound right, with the warranty and all. Replacements will still have to be available and if I can get a replacement at the dealership anyone will be able to buy the parts to build the kit.

This logic dictates that while they may no longer advertize Aspec, it will still be available. Ok that was my thesis on the subject.

A-Spec(ulate)??

The TL A-Spec performance package was limited to a run of a few thousand (under 5000 anyway). They might have simply run out of parts. Or they might have changed the kit slightly or something like that which caused them to end of life or discontinue the existing kit for the rest of the model year (which is right around the corner). Maybe it is S.O.P. to discontinue the kit every model year. I doubt that they have discontinued the A-Spec program completely.

well, 1 good thing (for me)... this makes my A-Spec suspension vs. Comptech Springs and sway bar decision easier... (if it is discontinued/out of stock)

Have you guys had trouble getting A-Spec as an option? I've asked for quotes from 4 different dealers and not 1 advised they could not offer A-Spec...

aspec parts

I just bought an 04 TL last Saturday with the A-Spec package. I drove the car off the lot that night, and was told I was need to bring the car back in to get the A-Spec put on. The dealer said they had to order the parts, they didn't have them in inventory. Anyways, I just called the parts deparment yesterday and they are expected to arrive on Tuesday. There was no mention of the parts being discontinued. I'll update everyone once I can confirm the kit is actually on my car.

I've called around and dealers seem to have the A-Spec package. I was trying to get one of them to just sell me the suspension... they wouldn't bite...

although most of them did say "well, they are allowing the A-Spec package to be broken up on the RSX, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did that soon for the TL"... whatever "soon" means...

I'm not too literate on suspension. Does it make that much of a difference in performance?

A Spec

Try Sunnyside Acura. I bought almost the whole Aspec kit from them. I purchased the front body panel, the side body panels, the rear body panel, the deck lid spoiler, the suspension kit, and the all season mats for just under $2K. Don't know if the prices I got still stand, but check out their web site or better yet call them. They don't have everything on their web site. But in any case, I have nothing but great things to say about them, cause they really were very nice.

few things:

EVEN if it is discontinued, it will be discontinued as an option, the parts will still be available. How do you think people get parts for their older model vehicles?

They may be discontinuing THIS A-spec package, only to release a NEW A-Spec package for the 2005 MY. Doesn't seem likely A-spec would go away after just 1 year of its introduction (possible, but unlikely)

i just got back from an acura dealer to get service b done and was told that the A-Spec will be discontinued! they will have a newer version of it coming out soon. once discontinued the parts will be available piece by piece and not as a package. that was what that dealer told me. so if you have the package, don't worry it will still be available if any piece needs to be replaced.
