A-Spec

Ok so I believe that my TL came with the Aspec Package it doesn't have the badge but it does have the front and rear lips and the side skirts. And it also has the suspension upgrade after I did some recon work and looked it over. Could someone tell me would this have come in the Aspec Aero package? I have the stock 17 inch wheels not the 18 inch chrome ones that usually come in the aspec package. I will post a picture as soon as I have time at work today. But any insight would be appreciated

Take a look at your steering wheel. The A-spec package came with a special steering wheel. Most people who clone an A-spec don't go so far as to change out the that part. Also, as you stated, the A-spec came with 18" wheels. I don't know why someone would get rid of them if they had that package, but it's possible.

Maybe previous owner parted out badge and wheels for a pretty penny? It's ridiculous how much those are running nowadays..

I thought I remember reading somewhere that you could use the VIN to decode whether or not the TL came A-Spec from factory.. Am i crazy or did anyone else remember reading that a while back.

The steering wheel has those different color leather inserts near the radio and cruise control buttons correct? Mine doesn't have that either. Just the body kit the flush mount spoiler and the suspension

I checked the vin on here and it did'nt say Aspec but i did read that when it first came out it was a $5,000 dealer installed option. I thought that there was an Aero package that you could get

Does it have the A-Spec Wing spoiler?

When they say "Aero kit" I believe they are referring to the bumper and side skirts

lol. ya, it doesn't have the hardest 3 things you can buy because you can no longer buy them

The badge is being whored out at over $100. The 8.5 wheels are hard to find but still attainable. Most get 8" wheels. The steering wheel is pretty rare to find for sale.

I know right that stuff honeslty doesnt bother me at all. There is someone here in st louis that is selling a set of the Aspec wheels no tires for $750-$800. The other stuff is not high on my list of things to get

The A-Spec package never changed the VIN. It was offered when purchased at a dealership as an accessory package.

My 08 had the body kit Aspec + the wing spoiler but no badge, wheels, or steering wheel. I have no idea whether is was dealer installed or owner. VIN doesn't tell me.

The picture I posted was from a post made by blkaspec. I believe our former vendor Supercomputers sold those pedals. I also believe there might be a set for sale in the Black Market but not sure.

My car has the A-Spec package, however, my steering wheel looks different. I have that faux carbon fibre stuff on the top and bottom, which I believe was an additional upgrade up and above the A-Spec wheel. Matches the interior nicely.

Yeah I had the same problem. Oh well at least that's one thing I don't have to do to it.

You're lucky you have the body kit, they're becoming more and more difficult to acquire.

I worked at honda for a while and they offered a Appearance Package for the Civics that looked just like the Si. We used it for the people who couldnt get the Si since Acura follows the same sales guide lines they as well offered that kit as extra that must be what you guys have.

When I bought my car I had the option of getting one with the A-Spec package. When I saw how much the price difference was I was like WOW, that is ridiculous. Thank God for AZine, because I realized how cheap everything was if I bought everything individually and installed it myself.

I think the biggest giveaway is the steering wheel. It is a rare item. I had a choice to go for it (and make it as authentic as possible.) but I did the carbon fiber inserted one instead (much better IMO). In all other ways you can't tell my car isn't a real factory A-Spec. So I could imagine if someone else tried the same it would be hard to tell the difference.

But at the end of the day who really cares? It is the same parts. The only difference with an OEM A-Spec kit is the original owner had some money to burn.

The end result is all that matters dealer installed or done yourself I think it looks a lot better than the base look. And the previous owner had it installed at a local Acura dealer here in town had it confirmed a few weeks ago. So I can thank her for that
