It's interesting that it's only T616 people that are seeing this problem...maybe it's because that the most popular BT phone on the market right now.

Here's what I've figured out. The "rattle" sound is mostly from people who are talking to me using their cell phone. I found that most of them are yelling into their phones (noisy background environments, and they think they have to yell to be heard), when I ask the to talk softer, of pull the mic(mouthpiece) away from their months the "rattle" stops. This tells me that they are overpowering the microphones on their phone and it's clipping the sound (rattle or distortion in our speakers).

So, the next time you experience this problem, ask the person to lower their voice...it should reduce the problem.

Now, there is another issue with GSM cell phones and speakers in general. I know sometimes I get interference on my laptop speakers from the T616, it is more of a quick buzz sound. I found this has stopped in the TL by keeping the T616 in the top of the center console, instead of the little pocket in the dash.

Link doesn't work. Also what did you say to AT&T to get them to send you a phone with the updated firmware?

Well the first customer service monkey that answered the phone was useless. They said "You need to send your current phone to SE or an SE Rep to get it flashed, and it takes about two week." I said "This is my business phone, and I can't afford to be with out it for two week, please get me a supervisor." When the supervisor came on the phone, I told them I can't believe a company like AT&T Wireless would require their customer to give up their phone for two week just for a simple firmware update. Additionally, I understand this is a manitory update for AT&T customers! Can you please send out a new T616 that I can swap out the SIM and return the one I have? The supervisor stated that it wouldn't be a problem. They took my info, I got the new phone the next day...swapped the SIM cards, and checked the firmware level and it was the most current. I believe all T616 sent to AT&T since mid Jan. 04 have the new firmware...

I think it going to depend on the "niceness" of the supervisor you get as to if they'll send you a new one...but, good luck!

No. I've only use the HFL with the current version of the T616 firmware.

The only things that have helped me are the tips I've provided in this thread.
