Someone ripped off my decklid spoiler...!!

One more reason to hate Miami. Miami sucks ass...i am going to break some balls when I find the punk responsible. People just cant leave your s*it alone.... The lip spoiler was pryed (spelling?) off with a screwdriver on the right end and the center...the paint is damaged and scraped where they wedged a screwdriver between the spoiler and the trunk. Im actually surprised it wasnt worse damage. They stole it last night. At least the double sided tape stayed on the trunk! Yay!

So much for the wonderful Acura "anti-theft" system, what a joke. I dont think it was anyone who lives here in my development. My theory is that it was a "friend" of someone that lives here...either with another TL or some other car that can use the part.

My question to all you auto pros out there...
What OTHER cars have a trunk shape where this LIP SPOILER will fit?

So when I see those cars roll thru my development I can keep a close eye on them..

Sorry about your spoiler. I'm worried that someone will pry off my satellite antenna as it would make their '89 CRX look expensive.

I'm currently paying $100 for any punk that shaves the Body Side Moldings off any TL they find, but I didn't place such a bounty on the decklid spoiler.

I like the James Bond Bomb alarm myself. Let the car blow up and blow up these punks.

James Bond always have cool stuff
BUT I bet his insurance must be super-high given the fact that the cars always blow up.

Black_Pride: I am sorry to hear about your loss.

Like everyone else here, I am so sorry to hear about your lip spoiler. However, it baffles me that someone who can afford a TL would go so low as to steal someone else's $300 spoiler. I agree that it not exactly a deal but something tells me that perhaps someone other than a TL owner or his partner in crime did this to you. Either way, I hope you replace it and put it behind you.

It probably will find it's way on a CIvic or Accord. Sorry but more expensive Acura parts get stolen all the time to put on modded Hondas.

me too if you are going to live here at least learn to speak english. i would look for your spoiler on some piece of crap primered civic or crx. i highly doubt anyone that ould afford a tl would steal a spoiler from your car. when you find them you should beat them to death with the spoiler. did your trunk lid get dented or just scratched?

That really sucks! About 3 yrs ago I bought my wife a new Civic EX with wing spoiler and someone stole the spoiler the first week we had the car. The thief pried the spoiler off and basically ruined the back end of the car. It ended up costing me $1600 to fix the dents on both rear fenders and trunk. The Police man told me that this kind of thing happens all the time with Honda/Acura cars because of how hot these cars are with young people in Central FL. :sqntfawk:

This whole ordeal resurfaced when I traded in the car in Jan for a 2004 3.5 SL Altima. The used car sales manager could tell that the entire rear end of the car had been repainted so he wouldn't give us shit for the trade in.
People that steal or destroy other people's property deserve to die. thats my $.02

I can't believe someone would actually steal a spoiler. I mean, c'mon! A spoiler? Why can't people leave others' stuff alone?

I would feel raped if it were my car. Bastards. :sqntfawk:

It's the sign of the times. I would never buy an expensive car or customize a car and park it outside overnight. A garage is a must nowadays. If you live in an apartment then it's a crapshoot whether or not your car will get messed with. Security system alarms are as popular as birds chirping. People don't pay any mind to the noise.

Even for someone with the puffy lumpers on his car, that made me smile

BTW, is it $100 per molding (i.e., $400) or $100 for the whole thing?

I prefer the MagnaVolt - I don't have to replace my car every time it is triggered.

In theory, the factory Deck Lid Spoiler should be bolted on as well as taped. Curious how they got it off without opening the truck to remove the bolts.

Damm, you can't own anything nice these days. I hope it was worth their time to steal a stinken spoiler. And BTW, I would rather the car blow up like James Bonds car, that way the insurance would pay for all of it, not you paying the deductible to get your spoiler back.

I'm currently paying $100 to anyone who finds this individual:

... and delivers him to your door!

---> + an additional $100 bonus if he's wearing your pryed off satellite antenna on his head as a modern day beany copter.

Usually they just "rip" the spoiler off the trunk. They takes the bolts and all leaving pretty holes in the trunk.

lol. i like that idea of the james bond thing blowing up the punks. I don't know if anyone knows but there is a security system in africa where the car shoots flames from under the car. seems like we need something like this for ourselves.

Yeah, I don't see how they could have gotten it off with the bolts. Interesting!

I think it would be pretty easy to pry it off with a screwdriver, the question really is could they use it afterwards???? I also think we are applying too much thought and logic to this. The thief who is stealing your deck lid or wing spoiler (in my case) for one is a dumb ass teenager and second has nothing to lose besides some community service hours and a spanking from mom if they get caught. If they can use it after they rip it off great, if not it was fun as hell destroying someone else’s property and it provides these little punks/wanna be thugs with a little adrenalin high. In any case these little bastards do not deserve the oxygen god provides…………
