Dang that is weird damage and i have seen A LOT of damaged cars in the insurance industry! Insurance will cover it just dont report it as hit and run it will be a collision claim with a higher deductable... if you have a higher one then comp. Good luck!

That looks more like vandalism IMO.

Like by a long metal rod.
I know many people don't like seeing a nice looking car.
May be you can call used auto part stores. They have connections.

If not vandalism, maybe a box truck or something backed into it.

That sux, OP. Good luck with the fix. I way be wrong on my insurance-speak, but if this wasn't an accident, then it should fall under comprehensive and usually the deducible is less than for collision so check with your insurer. It's not your fault so it shouldn't change your rates.

you're so right about that. people especially can't stand to see TLs. someone dented the right side of my bumper with a poll. luckily it popped right back out and you'll notice the imperfection only on close inspection. Insurance will charge you an arm and a leg to fix that.

Sucks to see this, especially being local. Hopefully you get it fixed, and if it is vandalism, let's hope you find out who did it.

dont say its vandalism if you report it to insurance, some companies done cover vandalism- I have state farm and they dont. Why wouldnt you report it to insurance? your rates wont go up it would be classified as uninsured driver and you probably wont have to pay the whole deductible

No one can do that much damage with a pole, especially since the marks line right up. It was defiantly as mentioned before, a box truck of some sort. I had a couple instances with my car, and my gfs car (someone broke her mirror right off). It happened a couple a years ago at a party and luckily my friend was outside and saw who did it...

As far as lips go, the only thing that will cover some of that would be the TYPE-S, and I can get that for you.

sorry bro , some upsetting shit..before filing you should f asked them what will be the increase on the policy, a no fault on progressive will increase the police by 1000/yr..it maybe cheaper to just fix it your self..

Turbocoop: you could not be more wrong! If you have comp insurance your insurance company will cover it. It sounds like you didnt not have it. I would claim it as vandalism as you were not there and you dont know what happened. Most people have a higher collison deductable so a comp claim with vandalism would have a lower ded. Now both ways it will be a not at fault loss but look into it and see if you have a lower ded.
