Some thoughts.

Some questions.

I was wondering if, I could get rid of the AC clutch and get an electric motor to run the compressor.

I was also curious if the passenger seat could receive the functions the driver seat gets. All of its movement and Memory.

I have no plan to go and try these mods.

The answer is yes. Anything is possible with enough time, motivation, and money.

Yes, however the compressor can be replaced with an electric one rather than attaching a motor to it. Many new cars uses electric A/C Like the RLX to reduce the load on the engine and provide better MPG. Also another benefit is A/C that continues to work if the car is stopped and the engine is off such as at a redlight.

The memory functions would require a bit of rewiring to the passenger seat as you'd have to add in the memory module and buttons. You can do it, but the cost might be a bit high. Maybe hit up the junkyard and try to get the necessary pieces.

I test drove a 2014 RLX Hybrid. It was nice. I liked the Electric AC. But the AC was connected to the battery in the trunk. My TL don't got a huge battery in the truck. (Electric AC is something I might go for) I was wondering what would be the electrical load on the electrical system? Would I have to fit another alternator just for the compressor?

and you would likely have to change EVERYTHING in the TL, in order to achieve what you were going for...and THAT's not viable

Hey guys, i have hypothetical question and solution but don't plan on tackling it at all.

I found an alternate car that has everything I want.

From the new posts, this tells me that Electric AC isn't practical.

you're asking something SUPER impossible unless an aftermarket company releases a kit that PROVIDES everything for you.

if not, you will have to piece electronics yourself, then have mindset to put it all together while not fucking up your car.

but anything is possible with enough MONEY, TIME, and MOTIVATION

fixed

also

that's like asking: Hey do you guys think I can add an electric motor to my TL and make it a hybrid? I'm sure you COULD.. but the question is why... and the practicality behind it.

Well, I got the Idea from that RLX I test drove. That was a month before I got my TL.

And all I needed was a yes or no.
