Try Downey. That is where I got my 5AT, Anthracite, non-Navi for 31,450 with wheel locks. OTD was just over 34K. As mentioned above, use Edmunds to get in touch with dealers, it does help. You can do most, if not all, of your negotiations on the phone and/or e-mail. Though, I still don't think they will deal much on the Navis.

Ordered my Anthracite/Ebony w/Navi for $34k from Alhambra. Now I'm thinking I could have done better if it was the end of the month. $34k was my first offer and they said ok. Had just come from Keyes and they wouldnt go lower than $34.2k so I firgured I'd try $34k at Alhambra. Right after I walked from Keyes, the salesman called my cell phone and tried to convince me to come back saying $34.2k was the best deal I would be able to find even after I told him I read on Acura-TL.com that people were buying it for $34.1k, why should I be the sucker to pay $120 more. He even called me again when I was at Alhambra and told me not to buy from them and to come back. Sorry buddy, shouldnt have let me walk. He then called me back a third time that evening after I already put my deposit at Alhambra to ask me to come in and work a deal. It was the best feeling to tell the prick off and to tell him him I just got the car for $34k flat. Also told him I'd never be doing business with them again because I left feeling like they tried to take advantage because my parents knew nothing about the car and prices. :thefinger Keyes ACURA!
BTW I read somewhere that someone got a non-navi for $33.5k OTD from Pasadena Acura. But thats possibly with OC tax.

When I was at Downey they had alot of cars on the lot. They had two Navis when I was there but they were only willing to let them go for $350 under MSRP.

Au contraire...I would say you are doing some things right. Namely, shopping around and refusing to pay top dollar.

It's late in the model year. These cars will take a multi-thousand dollar depreciation hit the instant the 2005s come out. There is absolutely no reason to pay MSRP, or close to it, unless you are bound and determined to have an 04 Navi right now.

Stay strong. :rocketwho

I think the one-way air fare to Ft. Lauderdale is about $120.00. I can hook you up with a new TL for MORE than $1500 off MSRP; you can buy it by email, if you like, I can go down the street and look at it for you and send you some pics... Then, you can fly out and drive it back to Cal. You get a free trip to Florida and a thousand or more in your pocket.

I just leased am Anth/Quarts 04 TL w/ Nav. It should arrive next week here in SoCal. The residual was 48%. That sucks, but I really got tired of negotiating and my current car is coming off lease. Just an FYI for you interested folks. I understand the 05's will not come out till Sept. or october. I can't wait that long.

More details if you wouldn't mind? Which dealer, cap cost, residual, drive-offs, payment before/after tax? Any trade involved?

The money factor for May per Edmunds.com is .00215 and the residual for a 36 month, 15K per year lease is 52%. Assuming the usual crappy SoCal deal (MSRP less $500 for example) that puts the payment somewhere north of $600 with CA sales tax. Way too steep for me on a $33-35K car.

Keep the info coming please!

I will do you all the favor, but please don't knock me if it is not the best deal. This is as good as I could do under the circumstances. Plus I'm a busy man and was tired of calling and visiting dealers to save a few bucks a month.

Here it goes:
Got the leather package/protectant/teflon thing, (whatever you call it) added for free (approximately $500 value).
Got wheel locks and mudguards added for free.

04 TL Anth/Quarts w/Navi
48 months/12 k miles
$500 off MSRP, so price is 34,695
Money factor I'm pretty sure is .20
Residual is 48% (that sucks, but it is what it is for the 48 month lease)
$2000 due at signing. I think $500 or $600 of that went to cap cost reduction.
No deposit required as this is my second lease from American Honda. They either waive it or keep the deposit and allocate it to the new lease. I don't know how that works, I just know I didn't have to pay it this time.

$500.78 per month for 48 months.

My car is supposed to arrive today. If it doesn't, It'll be in on Monday.

Let me know what you guys think of the deal. Thanks and hope this was helpful.

Latest figures I have gotten (including destination, before TTL):

$34,650 for 5AT navi

$31,400 for 5AT non-navi

Amazingly consistent among dealers. Makes me think there is some price-fixing going on. All dealers claim that inventory is low and demand is increasing.

I may have to just go for it pretty soon.

The non-Navi price is decent for CA. Good luck.

Or you could fly to Jersey or Florida and save enough to pay for a weeks vacation!

Pickup up my car 2days ago. Anthracite/Ebony w/navi. The wait was just a bit over a week. Seems like the demand has gone down quite a bit. Paid $34, had Metro call me yesterday asking if I would cancel my deposit and buy from them for $33.8k. $34,650 is way too much.

Well if that is true, then I could have waited another week and saved $695 or even $895. I leased at 34695. When I was looking the demand was still up there and 500 under MSRP was the best any of the SoCal dealers were able to do. I don't care at this point. I am soooooo happy with my car and content about what I'm paying for it. A week after I got my Dell system, the price went down $200. These things happen. Congrats dlai.

I got Anth/quarts/5AT/Nav.

The deed is done. Purchased a SSM/ebony 5AT non-Navi for $31,299 plus $290 for all weather mats, trunk tray, wheel locks and splash guards, plus TTL from Acura of Pasadena. Pretty nice folks. My only complaint is that the car had 150 miles on it. They might have let me know that over the phone.

Acura is going to offer 2.9% financing over the weekend starting Friday. That's worth around a grand. I got my bank to match it, so I pounced today.

It is an extremely bitchin car. My wife took one look at it when I got home and said, "Wow! That's a rocket ship!!" Honey, you don't know the half of it....

Anyone waiting on the 5-31 to 6-4 shipment of TLs to Socal? I sure as hell hope they come before memorial weekend is over since i can get that 2.9%. My dealer (santa monica) says my car will come before that and I am really really hoping it does. Anyone waiting on their car also?

BTW I think i am getting a AM/quartz 5AT, non-navi w/ protection package.

I didn't know this but i was calling dealers left and right asking what they had in the lot until i realized that if you build and price a car on acura.com and do a get a price quote you end up at a page where you can see inventory the dealer has and also what the dealer will be getting. Very nice way to save time in looking for the right car might I add.

I'll post again once everything goes well along with pricing info.

Talk to Nelson the fleet/internet manager. Ask for his best price. I think he normally quotes $31399, probably knocked off the extra c-note because the car had a few miles on it...? You'll need top-tier credit to get the 2.9%.

Good luck!

Prices for Nav 5AT in Nor Cal are not much different. I was quoted $34,695 and finally decided to purchase one last night. The dealer did not budge much on the price.

Nav (SSM/Ebony) w/wheel locks/truck tray/mud flaps/wing spoiler(installation included) for $38500 OTD

It was not the best deal - no regrets so far.

Best of luck VOdoc

Congrats, moahdib and smeds. You guys beat my deal by around a nickel. Where did you end up buying?

I was slightly bummed about having to pay separately for the dealer add-ons but at this point just had to go for it. Went with the dealer that will be servicing it, so that relationship may be helpful over the long run.

Probably could have beaten another few bucks out of the deal had I been willing to chase around to various dealers and sit in the box. (No! Not the box!! :argue: ) It seemed like Santa Monica and Weir Canyon were willing to deal a bit--but I had a hard time getting hold of their internet/fleet managers this week. Maybe they were resting up for the big holiday weekend, who knows.

The real key is the 2.9% financing. Over 60 months, that makes a world of difference.

Today I was very close to buying a TL with Navi. They had the colour that I wanted and the interior colour that I've grown to love. They were offering MSRP with the 2.9% financing that apparently will run until tomorrow.

I asked for the lip spoiler and they were willing to consider, alas, I relented at the last minute. I figured that the 2005 will come out soon and I also figured that since I was going to pay MSRP I might as well get a new 2005 (depreciation of the 2004 will be in about 4-5 months). The only concern that I have is with the low financing (2.9%) as I might miss out on this.

Boy, I'm in love with the TL!

By the way I also tried $33.8-finance would not bite .

You CAL guys need to seriously consider buying your TL from an Eastern dealer, flying out and driving back.

$2,000 - 2500 of MSRP is not that unusual in Florida or New Jersey. You can do it all over the Internet. That will pay for the trip, a week at the beach with plenty of cash left over.

At least we get mostly good weather to drive our cars in, unlike some places on the east coast or other parts of the US.

The Las Vegas dealer told me last week that the 05's will be out in October. That's what I'm waiting for. I'm hoping I won't be gouged, but if they won't be reasonable, I'll look at LA and Phoenix/Scottsdale.

Doesn't California have some special emissions requirement? We bought a pickup there in 99 and it had less HP because of the emissions. And buying a car sight-unseen is a little scary.

The emission system on all '04 TLs are the same.

The trunk tray is prob one of the best add ons... my friend and i went camping and her TL didn't have a trunk tray and it was just a mess after we unloaded everything. Definitely a wise investment.

And i've been getting quite a few private messages about my deal at SOuth Bay Acura. By what i'm hearing on this thread, people don't seem to be getting much better than 500 off msrp for the navi. I think if u haggled enough, u can do much better. Now... its ur choice whether all that dealing with the dealer is worth 500 bucks.

$33,195 from Metro Acura in Montclair said that was the price they would give us MSRP without any haggling yet. 5AT, Navigation. We're still gonna go to other dealers ini the area.

Isn't the trunk tray just a big rubber mat that goeas accross the whole trunk. or is it really a tray, or a compartment or something for you to put in stuff and keep your trunk organized. I thought it was the first thing I said. If you have a box or anything on there, it would simply slide and bounce around all over the place. Withought it, boxes and things you put in there grip into the material. I opted out of it. I could have gotten it though with my deal. Any thoughts?

so you are gonna get the TL after all instead of the TSX? 33K is pretty good and even more surprising you got service from Metro Acura lol

To me it's a must have. I just put one in. It's a vinyl tray that molded to the shape of your trunk. If you spill stuff in there, no problem, just wipe it out or remove the whole thing and dump out your mess. I often get garden stuff for home in my car, and I now don't need to worry about the mess.

that's cool. well as for Metro, the first time i went with a friend of mine (white guy) went with me. first class treatment. they didn't have a TL w/ navi but they had me and my friend sit inside a TSX w/ navi and got the whole "it has this, it can do that, etc." next time i went, i went by myself and i was ignored, not taken seriously and when i finally got helped i was slapped with an attitude that implied "you can afford this car?" :thefinger both of the times i went were after 8PM and there were plenty of sales people available so them being busy was not a reason for the treatment. anyways, i brushed it off and went to another dealer.

i eventually bought mine at Thomas Acura in West Covina
