The problem is that our cars (anthracite) have 14 variations of the color. So by you picking up the a spec at anytime it would vary and you have a 1 in 14 chance of getting your color. Its not noticeable until you look and stare at it. Is it worth $150 to you?

or instead of making a thread about a known inconsistency, why dont you just make it happen. Go get it painted and then come back and tell us you've done so.

From your very low quality pictures I cant even tell that there is a mismatch.

Definetly worth $150 to me, nobody see's it untill i point it out. Its so werid because i've seen tons of pics of peoples rear aspec not matching up... but my rear and sides are a pretty good match... its just the front lip seems so off. I plan on doing something with my grill while its in the shop too... but i'm not sure exactly what i want to get done to the grill... any sugestions?

to get my post count up.
no but seriously, get it done and be happy with your car.
Like ack said, if you aint happy and $150 is worth it to you, then make it happen!

Do you think Eric (the spaceship TL or any EPIC car) comes on here and complains about something, or ask "what should I do to my car?"
the answer is NO.
they simply have a vision for what they want to do. and then they make it happen.
so, make it happen Odehboy. After its said and done, come back and tell us how perfect the paints looks! Im waiting for the after pics!!!!(with a better camera, of course!)

i say get it done, there's no point in sitting in a car and being unhappy about any part of it. if u can afford it, do it. u've put all sorts of money into this car, and no you'll negotiate on this? no, how it makes u feel is the most important.

i cant even tell they are mismatched.
Get some pics that werent taken with your phone and with good lighting and then post them.
Cause honestly, it is barely noticeable and I wouldnt worry about it.

it looks okay to me. instead of repainting, how about putting money towards a drop?

I can see the slight mismatch. That's about the same difference as my 'painted' eBay trunk lip is to the rest of the car. But the trunk lip isn't as prominent on the car and the price difference between spoilerstore and OEM was more than enough for me not to gripe about it. An A-spec front lip is going to be more noticeable if the paint doesn't match. Mine is in the box waiting patiently to be installed, so I might be in the same boat. But if there was the same degree of contrast as yours, I'd probably be disappointed a little that it wasn't a spot-on match, but I could live with it. I wouldn't hate it and it wouldn't drive me crazy. It's your ride, make yourself happy if you're not now, but as an observer, I'll say sincerely that it doesn't look that bad.

If you do have it repainted have them do the whole lip including the light grey area on the bottom. I had my completely color matched to the car and I love it.

Should be happy you dont have WDP. My bumpers don't even match the body, but I don't think it would be worth it to have any of it repainted.

Paint Mismatch

Ok guys, reason why paint does not match perfectly with body and bumper is because the bumper is plastic. With the same shade of paint, it will dry and look different on plastic surface vs metal surface.

For example. I just got my type-s aspec paint matched to the body. But now the aspec matches, but the rear bumper doesn't match the rest.

They just need to repaint it to a different shade of the same paint, so when it dries it looks the same.

Guys, if we all can't play on the playground properly, we'll just close the playground and I'll send a couple of you boys go home for a week to think about it.

Are we clear?

This is a very good point. I was looking at an 08 WDP TL last year with less than 100 miles and the rear bumper didnt match the body and the salesman explain, how painted metal and plastic will have different shades......hence why I went with CBP...lol

I would definitely look into a drop. Matching is a requirement for show status. You will love it when it's dropped.

Honestly, saving that money towards a drop will do a lot more in improving your car's looks than paint matching the Aspec kit.

I'm very blunt and to the point kinda person.
spend your money how you would like to spend it. if you are unhappy about how your lip kit is...paint it. Do you really need azine to tell you how to spend your money?

half say drop it, and half say paint it. Make it happen Odehboy.
which ever route you choose, good luck and I hope it comes out the way you want it.

Blunt is not the word I would use to best describe you...

spend your money how you would like to spend it. if you are unhappy about how your lip kit is...paint it..
Are you dense? what gave you the impression that i wasnt going to spend my money the way i wanted to? and what gave you the impression that i'm not going to get it painted?

Do you really need azine to tell you how to spend your money?
Did i give you reason to honestly say something that stupid?

half say drop it, and half say paint it. Make it happen Odehboy.
I'll get right on that... only because you said so...

which ever route you choose, good luck and I hope it comes out the way you want it.

odehboy- the same applies for you.

the next time we see you guys going at it, well, I don't have to say it.
