TODAY COMING FROM SANDLAKE RD IN FLORIDA , I WAS DRIVING MY CAR VERY CAUTIOUSLY IN A MAJOR RAINSTORM. ThERE WAS SOME FLOOD SPOTS I WENT THROUGH, I WOULD SAY 2 FEET OF WATER. DRIVING THRU IT ABOUT 10-15 MPH. WHEN I GOT HOME I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING, AND SMOKE COMING FROM MY FRONT TIRES. I DONT THINK ITS THE BRAKES THOUGH. ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA WHAT COULD OF CAUSED ALL THE SMOKE? I HOPE I DIDNT DAMAGE MY CAR.

 

I Think I Knew What Happened. After The Rain Stopped I Went Back To My Started The Engine No Problem With Smoke. I Went To My Right Ft Wheel And Handfulls Of Pine Needles Lodged Inside The Wheel Near The Brakes, Clumped Together. This Most Likely Caused The Smoke And Smell,.

 

i was clueless as to what could've caused it... i was going to guess steam (from the brakes' heat and water), but i thought that would be insulting your intelligence.

glad you figured it out... i get paranoid when i hear about brake problems.

 

I like the smell of pine. Just ride the brakes for a few seconds, should clear whatever was tehre off.

 

Its either from water hitting the exhaust pipe or from some guys smoking weed underneath the car. Im leaning towards the exhasut pipe though.

 

The TL can do 2 feet of water forging, nice, how long can it keep that up?

 

Last time I smelled, weed didn't smell anything like burning pine or steam.

 

2 feet of water at 10-15 mph!!!! lol... Next time go faster and put a tow rope on the back for wake board...
