Silver TL-S - Input PLEASE

Hey all, you guys still remember me, right? haha
The word's finally in...and I'll be trading in my TL
The dealership offered me a measly 11k for it and said it was the best they could do because of the miles (73k) - I know the sales manager personally, and I have no doubt there's no "bullshitting". I also know the sales representative personally as well. The offer: a brand new 2008 TL-S for 33k, before taxes and licensing. It's the best they could do without going negative...and I'm pretty convinced; I'm sure they've seen me suffer enough. The SSM's the same Silver TL-S that I mentioned in a few other threads; I just can't seem to swallow that KBP TL-S...it just isn't for me

I'll be parting out soon btw...everything

Whacha guys think?

I bought my TLS about a month ago for 31.3K + TTL so 33K seems a bit on the high side. I can send you the copy of my contract if you think that will help you negotiate a better deal. It is a great car ..you will surely love it !

I'd say stick it to the man... go on the following

cars.com
autotrader.com
carsdirect.com

and pull up as many 08 tl-s with lower asking prices and show them rofl

Why part out? A lot (most?) of the mods in your sig will transfer to the TL-S.

Erick, that seems like a decent price for an '08 if it truly is "brand new" with no miles on it. I got my '07 Type S for $32,500, so that sounds like a good price for an '08. And hey, if you can really stay away from modding that car, you're a better man than I.

just a FYI. I somehow came across this the second time around. the dealer should pass the rebate on to you. double check the area you live in since I only checked for NYC

You can easily get an extended warranty for your car through Tim, but it will just cost a little tad more because of the overage of 60,000 miles. I think they're is no need in trading your NBP TL, it looks wonderful! If you do somehow take off those A SPECs and put stockies on them and sell them to me!

Oh yeah you should be able to get your TL-S, if you do, for 30-33k out the door, depending on the dealer(s).

Good luck!

Erik ... PM with your email address and I will email you my contract. Yes brand spanking new ..with 2 miles on it when I started my test drive ..and I always like to take the new cars I am interested in buying on the freeway to check out wind noise and rattles ..so when I signed the contract it had 19 miles ! Yes 36.2K is the invoice ..but Acura has a 3.5K dealer cash back and I got another 1.1 K discount because it is a 2008 model and the economy is .... tanking to put it mildly !

Now take the $3500 off of the $35.1K and the dealer base invoice would be $31.6K. Depending on the size of the dealership, Acura will have holdback/rebates on the number of cars that they sell so there is still a little bit more to find the dealer bottom line price; I'd guess somewhere in the range of $31K.

From $31K you've got to let the dealer/salesman feed his kids so add a 3% profit on top of this and I'd say at $32K you would have yourself a great deal.

BTW, I paid $33K for an '08 TL-S in July and I thought I got a great deal.

ALWAYS REMEMBER, this is business and they are NOT your friends. You may know them well enough but they are doing their jobs. Your job is to give them as little as reasonable for the car of your choice. Theirs is to make as much as possible while if possible keeping you thinking of them as friends so you will come back for more.

I didn't know ASM (Silver) Type S TL's were rare! I thought the most rare were Kinetic Blue and Redondo Red. Here in Kansas City, Type S TL's are rare...period.

that's a very good point - i really thought their offer of 33k was a hell of a deal! looks like it isn't even that great disappointing...
i'll be going back next sunday to negotiate...with a stern, mean face...i dunno, maybe i'll throw my arms around while i'm at it lol

Contact some of the other dealers in your area. A great method is work between a few dealers, so you can get the best deal. Even if you can find a great price on a slightly used TL-S for bargaining purpose.
