Here is my story on my good deal.

I brought a 05 TL for 26K and had a ton of problems with it. After 4 months of bitching the dealership brought the car back from me and sold me a 08 TL-S for 30.5. All the dealership wants to do is make a sale because nobody is buying anything in this economy. I'm sure if you go in there, sound convincing, and stick to you demands, they will come down and give you what you want.

To me, a low sale is better then a no sale... Good Luck

This article should help you understand your position. Determine the price you are willing to pay and stick with it.

same road I been down. Bro, you are my acurazine brother :ghey: and you are getting jerked with the trade in and price of the TL-S.

Where I work, everyone knows they are the biggest jerk offs and you can get a TL-S cheaper from them. (plaza automall)

What about this deal???

I went to check out an Acura Certified (100K/5yr mile warranty) Used 08 ASM Type-S 6-speed with 18K miles on it. We finally came down to around $29k + taxes/tags/title.

I was offered $17k for my 06 NBP A-Spec 6-speed with 46.5k miles.

Need some advice here ... Is this a good deal on a USED 2008 with almost 20K miles???

I am more then sure they will sell it for 34k-35k OTD since not too many are buying with the economy like this.

I got mine in Nov 08 for a little under 35k OTD

I didnt bring my dad damn it. I would probably be able to get it for 33.5k OTD .. too late LOL

erick, have the sales guy talk to the sales manager to see what they can do. they know the inventory is moving slow and the economy is like crap. goto different dealers and shop around, get it on paperwork and have the dealers fight for the sale . If you know someone that works there, they might be able to hook something up.

the finance rates are looking really good at .9%

Marketing Support Incentive ...

The dealer explained to me that the Marketing support incentive is only valid for brand new TLs. Don't know if that's true or not ... but then he explained to me that the $3.5K i spsread out over all the new TLs in inventory. So if there are 50 brand new TLs in stock then $3500/50 = $70 is alloted to each TL. Anyone knows how dealer work and can agree with this?

No Erik ..that sounds unreasonable ...most people who paid 33K+tax includes the rebate. getting an additional 3.5 K off would mean that you are getting the car 6.7K below invoice so if you take away the dealer cash it is still 3.2K below invoice ..which for a rare Type-S even in this economy would be a very tough if not impossible sell. I wasted a whole month (after reading about some inaccurate prices on the TLS on deal sites like Slickdeals and fatwallet) trying to get a deal like that and was ridiculed and turned down by the 4-5 dealers I went to. I finally settled for the 31.4K price I mentioned earlier and that seems to be one of the lowest verified prices I have seen.
The people who mentioned that "their friend" got it for 28K OTD were either lying out of their a$$es or were misinformed. I tried to track down a few people who posted those ridiculous prices and I managed to get in touch with a couple of them. One said, oh I forgot to mention that "my friend" had a 4.5 K trade in and the other said ..oh it was 28K+ tax but the car is a manager demo with 8K miles on it. So my recommendation would be that if you can get a new TLS for 31K+ tax you should go for it !

Rebates are only for new cars. They will feed you any crap they think you will swallow. Dealer is just playing, disrespecting you. The $3.5k is per car. Do a google to find the exact terms so you can read it for yourself. Sounds like you need someone with knowledge to go along with you for a purchase.

Marketing Support not Rebate

Thanks buddy but the current and only incentive for 2008 TLs is for marketing support NOT rebates. There's a difference. Rebates are direct to the consumer, but marketing support goes to the dealer and they decide how to use it.

Erick-

I'm new to this board, but I've been to Acura of Lynnwood about 6 times in the last 4 months looking to pick up a 3rd generation TL. I've looked at that exact silver TL and my salesman told me they've had it for over a year, but didn't like the offer I gave (30k). I knew there was the manufacturer to dealer $3500 incentive and I even wrote to the sales manager with another offer. He told me flat out that he would not "entertain" anything less than 33k for it. I've tried going in at the end of the last 2 months but that didn't seem to help either. I ended up buying a 07' certified silver Type-S from Hinshaws this last weekend. I got it for $27,850 plus ttl, but it only has 20k miles. I think I got a pretty good deal on it. It was originally sold Nov. 06. Now I got to get a trunk mat and mud guards. Good luck! Maybe you'll have better luck with them than I did.

That's what the salesman (Jeff) told me. I know the blue one showed up about a month ago. There are no other new type-S TL in the PNW. At least none that I could find.
