Siemens S56 works great for bluetooth

My wife and I both have the Siemens S56 cellular phone (Cingular) and I paired both quiet easily with the car (Got it yesterday!). Car recognized both and sound quality is very good. Person on other end cannot even tell driver is not directly on the phone. Passenger or back seat person sound far away, but the system is designed for the driver. Sound in the car is very good too. I have not seen yet if call waiting works though?? I'll have to try that next.

Do all the meters work.. caller ID signal strength etc on the car?

Thumbs up

Yes all of the meters work. I do not have navi, but the center display shows that fact a phone is paired and the tower signal strength. The MID shows signal strength, battery level (just noticed today when my battery was getting low) and the caller ID. All of the voice commands have worked well too.

Let us know how the caller ID call waiting works. That would be interesting!

I have a question for S56 owners. When a person stored in your phone's address/phone book calls you, what shows up in the MID?? The person's name or number??

Every call that I received in the car has shown the number but not the name, it's not that big a deal because I can just look at the phone display but it would be nice if I didn't have to dig into my pocket to get the phone out. I guess I could also try to remember people's numbers but who does that now a days!

So for, just the nimber shows up. Everything else works fine. No problems with it yet.

For me just the number, and I stored about 30 entries in the cars built on phone system with names attached and it doesn't say anything about the person just the #. I guess you will have to learn. :-)

Congrats, I'm glad you are happy with your phone.

I have the Sony T-616 and am very happy with it as well. From what I can tell, these are the two best to pair with our TL's.

On incoming calls, do the caller names show up for the Sony T-616? If so, are they supposed to for the S56 or is this how it will work for all bluetooth capable phones?
