Side markers smoke/clear/Type S?...on 2008 CBP Base

pretty new here.. tried to find a thread made already about this but didn't.. maybe i just suck at searching but whatever

recently bought a base 08 navi CBP TL.

looking to change up the rear side markers, maybe all four i dont know but wondering all your opinions on tinting just the rear or all four or buying the USR vs OEM side markers since ive seen some pros and cons for both on some threads.. and if anyone has any pictures of their CBP with what you did to your side markers that'd be sweet

Don't tint the side markers, it just looks cheap when you do that. I would get the USR ones, I have them and haven't had any problems. Sorry I have a WDP though so I can't really help you with pics.

As far as tint, when you have lighter interior, you have to go with a bit darker percentage. I would say 20% or lower.

I'd go with either USR or OEM Type S sidemarkers.

IMO, without a doubt.

Check out the BlackMarket, you might be able to find someone selling some.

Switchbacks seem nice. Just weary of the usr "type s style"

Sorry for the newbish type question but what are people buying as far as the rear smoked type-s lenses? Are you just just spending the money on oem ones? Or are you guys buying knock off ebay type-s lenses? I like the idea of the usr ones but I just don't think visually they look good on the car. I like the stock look.

the USR ones look just like the type-s ones, if not better.

i sold my type-s markers for the USR ones and haven't looked back, plus they're switchbacks...just another plus.

^why didn't you just buy them instead of buying type-s rears?

USR's run WHITE all the time, and switchback amber up front and red in rear when you apply turn signal.

I like the USR smoke ones, they don't match the stock fronts so you have to swap out all 4 but it's super easy. IMHO the white ones look out of place, I saw a black TL driving by me the other day with white side marker lights and it just stands out in a bad way, I'd stick to the stock colors.

The front markers are the same for a base or Type-S, so you only need to do the rear if you go OEM.

If going with the usr's and choosing stock colors can you change the color at a later time or are you stuck with buying a new pair. Correct me if im wrong but you can change the color of the stock side markers. No?

Hey GKinColo08TL, are the Depos you're talking about the same as the "Type-s smoked" ones selling on eBay for like $57? I couldn't tell by the pictures if they would match the front sidemarkers.....they look a little darker.
