should i paint my car nbp?
it all started with just wanting to remove the ugly wing spoiler. i was quoted $300 to remove the spoiler and repaint the trunk to match my dgp. then they told me they could paint my entire car black for $600 with a 4 year gloss warranty. now i have a decision to make. for just 300 more i can paint my whole car, i think thats a great deal especially bc it would take care of my minor dings and scratches on my front and rear bumpers.
currently my car is deep green pearl which is a rare tl color so its kinda a shame to paint it black. i know painting a car usually decreases its resale value but i think it would be easier to sell a black tl rather than a green one.
also black on black rims would look awesome. i've always wanted a black car but was thinking of waiting til my next car.
lmk what your guys opinion is. stay green or go black?

A $600 dollar paint job? Are you getting it done at MAACO? Sounds too good to be true, sorry.

I like you car color now, pretty uncommon color to see on the road.
I understand your situation though, dings and scratches are a real eye soar to look at. But if i were to repaint my car i would definitely do a custom color. Maybe some kind of pearl or candy paint lol.

Are they just going to paint the outside of the car, or like the door jambs, etc? I feel like it looks odd when you see a car door open and the door jambs are a different color, or like the engine bay a different color...I dunno, just my 2 cents.

If you can get a decent paint job by your friend with warranty I don't know why you wouldn't paint it NBP. Its basically free. Contact you in about a year too see how the paint is and I'll drive down there so he can do mine. Tell him I'm your cousin, thanks!

Stay Green, more rare of a color and if done right, it can be sexy as all hell. Even if you are just getting the exterior painted without the door jambs and engine bay, it wouldn't look bad since the green is dark as well. It might actually look pretty cool with the two-tone.
$600 though, even with a discount seems like it covers the materials and hardly no labor. But, if they are giving you a discount and you've seen their work before, it wouldn't be bad if you really want the NBP.

Another thing to consider is 2 tone. Just throwing some options out there for you...black below the pinstripe line or maybe just a black roof or maybe black hood, roof and trunk lid... it should really be up to you.

i do really like DGP, but in this case...as THE ROLLING STONES said
"I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black...
I wanna see it tainted, tainted black
Black as night, black as coal"

I'm not a big on the green, but would avoid any repaint, especially if in the $600 range. Gloss black sounds like an enamal color rather than the base/clear, and the prep work along with spraying all the unseen areas, just isn't going to be done for $600, but naturally, your call.

it sounds lke he is doing the work for free and charging you for materials...i work at a busy shop and believe me it doesnt cost 600 to paint a whole car...make sure he is takes everything off...lmk if you have more ?s

That's not true. About a year ago there was a thread about a flat black TL that was for sale on autotrader. It had a RonJon bodykit too. It turned out that the ad was fake, but the car did exist. IMO the flat black did not look good on the TL. Anyone else remember that thread?

to be completely honest with you to paint a car with just quality materials and supplies would be over six hundred and you would def need to take allll the llights out bumpers off handles out mouldings etc. just so you wont have peeling issues. a full color change is only nice when done correct man
