shifter lights

First of all, I've searched and have found nothing in this topic.

Does the shifter have backlights for the letters?

I've never really payed attention to it before.
If it does, what's the best way to order some new bulbs? I tried searching the service manual for this, and came up with nothing.

Thanks in advance

I would do that, but I've never taken apart the center console completely before. (except to change the seat heat lights). The service manual doesn't really give much info on how to get to the bulbs.

I met this Acura mechanic on craigslist. He will replace the "shifter light" plus the 2 seat-heater lights this weekend. 3 bulbs #E74 in there. I saw some videos on YouTube how to take out the center console. My glove compartment also need a bulb.

Not to hijack the tread, my driver side doorlock handle's cable broke 2 weeks ago. I have to open the door from the outside each time to exit - and that is embarrassing. Cheap Japanese door! My old honda also had problem with door handle. Anyhow that will be replaced this weekend, together with the door actuator. (major problem there too now - the door just won't opened sometimes using remote key)

Check to make sure it is really broken. There is a plastic lock piece that can come undone, resulting in similar symptoms to what you describe. Pics in this thread:
