Shave off the emblems

I want to shave off the emblems on my tl. I want to take the TL, and the word Acura off, and keep the acura emblem thats right in the middle. Is there screws holding the two emblems that i want off or is it just adhesive double sided tape?

There's just double sided tape on the TL and ACURA, the acura symbol held on by tape and two prongs.

Okay how do you take them off without messing up the paint?

Easiest way is just to use some fishing line or some strong dental floss behind the enblems and with a sawing motion cut thru the adhesive. A heat gun or blow drier will help you out if its cold where your at, but not necessary. Use some goo-gone or tar/bug remover to get the residue off. wax the area and your done! enjoy your clean ass

yeah, I tried that on my 04 SSM just two weeks ago and it came out ok. After using goo gone I can still see glue residue that didn't go away. Even tried using a razor blade at an angle and the glue still remains. The car is 7 yrs old so I guess I can't expect much

I just used a old gift card. Came right off. Buffed the residue off.

had the same problem as you for my 05 when it went thru 103xxx of environmental changes. First thing I did upon getting the car was debadge and "acura" "tl" is now part of my computer monitor =p

I used a hair dryer + some dental floss.
goo gone didn't rub thru all the adhesive i went back and forth between goo gone and turtles clear coat safe rubbing compounds and now you cannot see any residue what so ever from any angle

Thumbs up

EASY DUDE, JUST TAKE ONE OF THESE CHISEL HAMMERS AND JUST HAVE AT IT

just playing don't do that. Let TL sit in sun for a while, or use warm to hot water and drench the logos. This will soften the glue. Use dental floss (I recommend Glide, the Safeway brand just breaks)

Slowly work your way down. After you are done, lightly scrape with credit card and hot water until all glue is gone. Try Goo-gone too. Then I would wash, clay bar the area, do a little polish and BAM!
