Question Settings reset automatically?

Hey all. I have a question. It's not really a problem but more to satisfy my curiosity.

The other day, I got into my car and started the engine to realize that most of my settings on the radio dashboard had been reset. The AC/Fans were all off and my radio settings had disappeared. I was a little nervous because i thought someone had tampered with my car. However, everything else was still correct, the seating memory and mileage. Pretty much everything was the same except the settings for the radio and AC/Fan.

I found this weird because it had never happened to me before. As a result, I set my settings again for the radio but made some changes to it than what I had before (ie.the number for a radio station) . The next morning, my settings were still there, but had REVERTED back to my initial settings and the new settings i had set just the night before was gone.

As i said, this isnt really a problem, but I was wondering if any of you had ever experienced this situation?

Did you use the same key fob to gain entry to your car...ie; reason being I do believe that each key fob..Driver1 or Driver2 has it's own settings for radio ac/ etc, someone correct me if I'm wrong because I only use key fob 1 as I'm the only one that drives my car!!??

It sounds like a different fob is being used to unlock the car and perhaps the car is left unlocked when you use it- like as if your car is in your garage unlocked. If this happens again, lock the car with your Fob and then unlock it with your fob and see if your settings come back.

This happen to me only once. when i was heading to the store i realized that the XM channel was at one which is default and i just didn't want to re assign all the presets again to the radio so then when i came back to the car after the store, they all came back!. no one drives my car so only one key is used. Has not happen again so i never bother.

id check your battery...how old is it? it can still have enough juice to start your car everyday but if its dying it can drop some of your presets...i just replaced my battery and everyday i got in my car some things would be the same, some would reset! annoying!

I'd say its because the car has been unlock using different remote like skyfox23 said. maybe you didnt know or didnt realize or some one did it.
fyi, this is the feature of the car that it memorize 2 different driver profile for audio setting (radio station, bass/treble), climate control, side mirror post, driver seat post, this what i can remember.

If the battery dead, it is different symptom: the audio unit will ask for the code.

yea its wierd... everything in my car is the same when i cut it back on except my radio.. for instance i could be on track ten on a cd and once i cut the car all the way off and then cut it back on the disk starts all over again.. is this normal because every other car i have ever had just picks up where it left off?
